The Hill.com is reporting that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is the favorite today to be the GOP Presidential nominee in 2012. The Hill reports:

“Superbook.com puts Palin’s odds at 3.5-1, the best among Republican hopefuls….Romney 4-to-1,… Huckabee 5-to-1…and Jindal 6-to-1.”

Florida’s Charlie Crist, former speaker Newt Gingrich and South Carolina’s Mark Sanford are each listed at 12-to-1.   Please God, not Newt Gingrich and his “new conservatism.”   We need traditional conservative Americans running for office.

ConservativeAmerican.org is not yet convinced it would be wise for Palin to run in 2012.  We need to wait to determine how popular Obama is first.  If he seems unbeatable (afterall, Illinois Congressman Bobby Rush will let everyone know they are racists if they vote against Obama), then Palin should wait for the 2016 race.  It’s waaaaaaaaaaay too early for this kind of who should run talk anyway.  It’s fun though.

While Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was teased for saying, “You Betcha!”, Caroline Kennedy apparently has her own vocabulary problem.  News Blaze.com is reporting Kennedy, ya’ know, just has to, ya’ know, say “Ya’ know” quite often.  From the News Blaze:

“By the count of the New York Daily News, Caroline Kennedy used the phrase ‘you know’ two hundred times in an interview with the Daily News, a hundred and thirty times in an interview with the New York Times, and eighty times in an interview with TV station New York.” That totals 410 “you knows.”

Kennedy could wind up, ya know, being Palin’s opponent in a 2016 Presidential race.  It could happen.  You betcha.

The media apparently will stop at nothing to find something new and awful about Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. The Washington Independent says it sent a reporter to attend her Wasilla Bible Church in their “quest to understand Sarah Palin.”  What a crock.  Understand her?  What is so difficult to understand?

Liberals apparently just can’t understand why conservatives believe in God.  “There must be something wacky going on,” they think, “Perhaps if I attend the Church, I’ll find out what it is.”  This is sleezy.  But depsite her Catholic education, reporter Laura McGann did it anyway.  By her own admission, the pastor made it clear that reporters were not to interview parishioners on private Church property.  In McGann’s own words:

“Kroon [the pastor] then said members of the press shouldn’t speak with anyone attending the service, or take photos. At this point, because I’m about an ounce better than paparazzi, I started to think about what the entrance looked like and where I’d most effectively snag people slyly…“Please don’t use this as a fishing pond for interviews,” Kroon said.“

These people are amazing.  She is proud of herself for not being much better than paparazzi.  She continues:

“In conversation with some church-goers after the service, I was asked, earnestly, if I’m a believer myself. When I explained my Catholic background I received supportive nods. (So supportive that one woman gave me the email and phone number of her son, who lives in Washington.) I spoke with two different couples — two lawyers and two entrepreneurs — about the role of the church in their own lives. They all agreed it’s a real community here. When I asked for their names, though, they hesitated — saying their pastor had suggested they not speak with reporters…Unfortunately, just as one church member was writing down directions to a beautiful area just north of Wasilla that she thought I ought to visit, a member of the church approached and said I was not allowed to interview anyone “on the premises.” My small group scattered in response.”

Knowingly or not, McGann is part of the larger effort here to elect Obama in 2012 by making sure his top political opponent today, Sarah Palin, is diminished.  Have you noticed how often the media is saying that someone was “Palin-ized” and the like, the way we say someone was (Judge) Borked.

Kansas City Star editorial page writer Barb Shelly says there’s no real comparison between Caroline Kennedy and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. On that much, we can agree.  Sort of.  There is no comparision at all because Palin is so much more qualified that Kennedy it is silly to compare the two.

Shelly, of course, thinks it is the other way around.  She insists new US Senators don’t have any real power and it would take decades for Kennedy to get some anyway.  She says Palin, on the other hand, was a heartbeat away from being President.  Then she writes, basically, “Case closed.”  That’s it.  That’s the extent of her brilliant arguement:

“Caroline Kennedy, if she gets the nod from New York Governor David Patterson, would be one senator in a body of 100. She’d likely start out on a few obscure committees and achieve real power in a couple of decades — if she has the electoral skills and staying power.  Sarah Palin, if she had been elected vice president, would have been one heartbeat away from taking over the most powerful elected office in the world. And a lot of people were worried about John McCain’s 70-something-year-old heart. So there you have it. The sentinels of media bias will have to come up with better material.”

Do these people think before they write things down?  So, a new senator just is obscure and has no real power for decades.  Hmmm,  how do you explain rookie Senator Barack Obama then, Barb? With Palin and Hillary Clinton opening doors for women, Caroline Kennedy suddenly wants in the US Senate.  She likely has her eye on being President after Barack Obama leaves office.   As a defender of the media, Barb, YOU will have to come up with FAR better material!  Palin is more qualified than either Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton or Howard Dean when each of them tried to become president.  Yes, Barb, we have evidence:  Got Proof?

CBS News reports that “Grandmother” Sarah Palin is “fighting back” against media portrayals of her kids.  Check out the video.

Then CBS offers this “brilliant” analysis online:

“Media expert and author Michael Levine says it’s profoundly unusual, and “in some ways, demeaning of the position she has. It’s so clearly an effort to go on offense against a bad situation.”

What? Soooooooo, it’s wrong when a conservative goes on the offense against a bad situation???  Isn’t it good to be on offense? Especially against a bad situation?  Levine is a goof ball if he honestly believes it is demeaning of the position of Governor to stick up for one’s kids.  We’ll see if he and CBS feel that way when the news stories maybe aren’t as “polite” as they should be with President-Elect Obama’s kids.

The Jackson Mississippi Free Press is reporting that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and Senator Hillary Clinton have encouraged other women in politics.  Reporter Ronni Mott writes:

“Women believe that Sen. Hillary Clinton and Gov. Sarah Palin crashed a few glass ceilings in the Nov. 4 general elections. Despite the media treating them unfairly, concentrating far too much on hairstyles and clothing, the majority of women voters say that the two politicians have paved the way for more women to run for office in the future.”

Ronni, haven’t you heard from your other liberal friends in the media? It’s okay now to talk about the appearance, skin color, and sex appeal of political candidates.   Your buddies are busy telling us all that Obama is a hunk in a swimsuit with big abs.  AP wonders what to call him (black, white, half-white, biracial, etc.) because of his “even tan” as the Italian Prime Minister called it.   You must have missed the memo.   Ronni, the only time it’s not okay to talk about those things is if you are being critical of a democrat or positive about a republican.  For example, don’t write “Palin is Hot, Clinton is Not” in your newspaper.  For while that is true, it will get you in trouble with others in your party.

Fox News Host Bill O’Reilly took a moment during his “talking points memo” the other night to stick up for Sarah Palin. O’Reilly was looking back at 2008 and noted the following:

“Obviously, the bulk of the media in this country is liberal, and many of them are zealots. So if you are not liberal, watch out. You’ll be slimed, attacked and vilified. Even at the network level there are no rules or standards anymore. Now, I have seen this coming for a long time, but this year with Obama-mania and the vicious attacks on Sarah Palin, critical mass was reached. Just for a second, compare the treatment the media is giving Caroline Kennedy to what Sarah Palin received. Come on.”

People magazine continues with it’s big scoop on the birth of Bristol Palin’s baby. People now is reporting comments from Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, who says Bristol and Levi Johnston are “working their butts off to parent.” I’m certain they are not sleeping their butts off, that’s for sure!

People reports:

“You need to know that both Levi and Bristol are working their butts off to parent and going to school and working at the same time,” Palin told PEOPLE in a phone message Wednesday. “They are certainly not high school dropouts.” The former vice presidential candidate said she wanted to be clear about their continuing work toward high school degrees because any suggestion otherwise “harms Bristol’s reputation and Levi’s reputation and their chances for good work opportunities.”

Who the heck would want to live next to Oprah Winfrey?  I’ll pass on that one.  Still Reuters news service did a stupid poll asking people if they had to live next door to a celebrity, who would they pick?  Do you think we have too much time on our hands here?  I thought the economy was the big issue.  Oh well.

Sarah Palin was picked number one and Oprah came in second:

“(Reuters) - If they had to live next door to a celebrity, American adults would most like to be neighbors with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and chat show host Oprah Winfrey. Republican vice presidential candidate Palin topped the poll of most desirable celebrity neighbors with 14 percent, closely followed by Winfrey, who was particularly popular with women.”

I would think married men would not want to live next to Sarah Palin.  I mean there you are in your own backyard with your own beautiful wife, and you’re not supposed to notice Sarah Palin next door in her own swimsuit jumping into her own pool.  Hmmmm.

Courtney Hazlett of MSNBC is reporting that Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston might have hit pay dirt.  Her report says the two may have a deal (no one will admit it on the record yet) that would give People magazine the first pictures of Tripp Johnston in return for a $300,000 check to the engaged couple.  Hazlett writes:

“The bidding started well before the baby was born, but once Levi’s mom was arrested — well, then you had a story,” says one editor. As for how much teen parents Bristol and Levi made from the deal — most estimates hover around the $300,000 range (none of the magazines would confirm the exact figure in the end, which is standard). No word on whether the money will go to charity, as sometimes happens in a celeb baby deal.”

If there is any money involved, perhaps the two can use it for their wedding, a new home, appliances and even a college fund for Tripp.  If there is no such deal, ConservativeAmerican.org would like to offer the pair $30 for the first pictures of Tripp with the money to be given to the charity of their choosing.  Sorry it can’t be more!
