Reid Not Only One with Racist Comments on the Left!
Monday, January 11th, 2010Cal Thomas has an excellent piece on the disturbing double-standard being displayed in the matter of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid-er (as in Harry Potter) after his comments about the Half-Black Prince (It’s Obama, not Professor Snape…as in Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince…are you with me?) surfaced in a new book.
President Obama quickly forgave Ried for saying he was an okay presidential candidate because he had lighter skin and didn’t speak negro, unless he wanted to. Obama has made his own racist comments as has Joe Biden, Sonia Sotomayor, Dick Durbin and others.
First from Reid, comes #974 on the Official Obama Administration Scandals List:
“According to John Heilemann and Mark Halperin’s Game Change, back in 2006 Harry Reid “was wowed by Obama’s oratorical gifts and believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama — a ‘light-skinned’ African American ‘with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,’ as he said privately.”
Racism is tolerated big-time on the left. Liberals, especially black liberals, are far less upset when one of their own makes a racist comment than they ever are when a republican (or worse yet, a conservative!) makes a racially charged comment. It’s all a game to them. You certainly can fairly question their sincerity.
Now from Obama, came these racist remarks…
1. Obama offered a blatantly racist rant about white people ruining world. It’s from his book first released in 1995. He recorded himself reading the book. You can listen for yourself at ConservativeAmerican.org (# 5 on the Scandals List). In talking about some people having more than others, Obama describes the world as a place “where white folks’ greed runs a world in need!”
2. Obama said (# 6 on the Scandals List) some “White Executives living out in the suburbs” don’t “want to pay taxes to inner-city children!” This is the interview where Obama also made the bizarre spiritual claim that his own eternal fate remains tied up with the fate of the African American community….whether it’s poverty or uh political suppression, uh or ethnic conflict uh is just as prominent there and can’t all be blamed on uh the effects of colonialism, uh what it can be blamed on is some of the common factors that effect Bosnia or uh Los Angeles! Or uh all kinds of places on this earth, and that is uh the tendency for one group to try to uh suppress another group uh in, in the interest of power or greed or uh, resources or what have you.”
3. Obama said (# 12 on the Scandals List) in his Radio Interview Scandal # 1 – the U.S. Supreme Court Should Have Redistributed Wealth from Whites to Blacks! On WBEZ FM in Chicago, then state senator Barack Obama suggested the supreme court failed the civil rights movement by not “redistributing wealth” after black people were given rights. He thinks the U.S. Supreme Court should have taken money from whites and given it to blacks as part of the civil rights movement! It was socialist redistribution of wealth years before Joe the Plumber.
And How about Joey Buttafuoco Biden? He’s made his own racist remarks too. Liberals just don’t care though. They elected these two people as President and Vice President!
Biden was running for president when he said (# 20 on the Scandals List) Obama was “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.” – He’s the first half-black man to be articulate? To be bright? To be clean? To be nice looking?! Good lord, man! Who let you out of the cave?
President Obama has also placed a racist on the U.S. Supreme Court. The Judicial Network notes that Sonia Sotomayor has made racist comments ( # 372 on the Scandals List) as a public speaker in the past, comments that, if reversed, a white person would never be able to get away with. From the Network: “Sotomayor readily admits that she applies her feelings and personal politics when deciding cases. In a 2002 speech at Berkeley, she stated that she believes it is appropriate for a judge to consider their “experiences as women and people of color,” which she believes should “affect our decisions.” She went on to say “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”
Imagine if a white man nominated by Barack Obama had said, “I would hope that a wise white man with the richness of his experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion that a Latina woman who hasn’t lived that life.” OMG…they would be out in a heartbeat! Racism for Socialists like this President and this Supreme Court nominee is apparently okay though. Instead of being run out of town for her outrageous comments, she’ll be honored for years and serve as a roadblock to justice on the highest court in our land.
Leading the way Right, ConservativeAmerican.org was among the first to point out Sonia Sotomayor is a racist. The sometimes conservative Newt Gingrich agreed, but then wimped out and retracted. Rush Limbaugh agreed and stood by it. Turns out Sotomayor repeated her racist remarks for years! Now Fox News says Sotomayor has said repeatedly that she uses her race and gender to help make decisions and that she, as a self-described “wise Latina” (no modesty, apparently), reaches better conclusions than a white male judge. From Fox: “They (new papers) include more instances in which she said she hopes a “wise Latina” would reach a better decision than a man without that experience. The comments in 2002 and 2003 echo a much-criticized remark she made in 2001 at the University of California-Berkeley law school that has prompted a furor among conservatives who say they suggest President Barack Obama’s first Supreme Court nominee brings a personal bias to her legal decisions.
Obama has said he is “sure she would have restated it.” In fact, she said it almost precisely the same way in speeches to the Princeton Club in 2002 and one at Seton Hall law school in 2003, according to copies she sent the Senate.” How could President Obama be so wrong about her? She had the chance to restate it, and chose not to. This is what she believes. She is a racist and it is very fair to say so. The real question is: Why would a United States President want to appoint a known racist to the Supreme Court unless he agrees with those views himself? Is President Obama a Racist/Reverse-Racist too? It certainly appears that is possible. Does picking a racist make him one too?
In a bizarre attempt to help Sotomayor, # 2 Democrat Senator Dick Durbin used RACISM to defend Sotomayor’s RACIST comments!:
“Democrat U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (part of the Obama Chicago Street Gang from Illinois), actually said today that white men don’t have it in their DNA to understand minorities!!! What an outrageous thing to say! Durbin is trying to come to the rescue of Racist Supreme Court Nominee Sonia Sotomayor. You know her. She’s the one who said a wise Latina woman (she’s so conceded she was talking about herself) more often than not will come to a better conclusion than a white man who doesn’t have that “experience.” Durbin told the Senate committee reviewing Sotomayor that in the past they have spent time “questioning white male republican nominees” to see if they go “far enough to understand minorities.” He said it is simply not in their DNA!!! So, he uses Racism to defend Racism???”
So why is racism tolerated on the left? Why don’t so-called Black Leaders, like Rev. Jesse Jackson who was in tears when Obama won the election, speak up? They were silent on Sotomayor and are silent again now.
