Pelosi should talk to Reid, not Bush

Friday, December 19th, 2008

Fox News is reporting the following:

“Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi called on Bush Thursday to act quickly to prevent “the imminent insolvency of the domestic auto industry,” as dismal new unemployment data surfaced Thursday. Pelosi — citing news that 554,000 Americans filed for jobless claims last week — said “it is critical that Democrats and Republicans work together to ensure that the new year is a time of new economic opportunities for all Americans.”

Pelosi needs to call on Senate Leader Harry Reid to act, not President Bush.  This is a transparent partisan move to blame republicans (and Bush) yet again.  She knows Bush will sign what they can pass on the hill.  Her lie that “it is critical democrats and republicans work together” also is politics as usual.  Reid and Dick Durbin, of the Obama Chicago Administration,  have control of the US Senate.  The republicans have no power to do anything.  Reid and Durbin don’t need a single republican vote to get this passed.

All Pelosi is doing is trying to prevent the blame from landing where it belongs: with Harry Reid.

Please don’t misunderstand any of this to mean we want an auto bailout!  No way.  We are drafting a thank-you letter now to Reid to praise him for his incompetence.

Will Congress Save Chevy Volt?

Monday, December 8th, 2008

Congressional leaders worked into the night tonight (12/8/8) trying to hammer out a $15-billion bailout for GM, Ford & Chrysler. The amount is far less than the $34-billion the car-makers wanted. The White House is not sold yet, fearing the taxpayers will never see the money again. The democrats want to convert the industry into a socialist enterprise run by the government. They are suggesting a national “car czar” to run the industry from Washington D.C. Why do dems like the term czar so much anyway?

It will be a huge blow for the economy if GM, Ford &/0r Chrysler would disappear. However, that is not likely to happen. Even if no bailout comes, the companies will file for bankruptcy, regroup and try again. Even the companies should want that instead of giving in to being run by a beaurocrat somewhere who knows nothing about making cars. The big three are swallowing all of the global warming farse and promising to be good little girls and make pink and green cars powered by wind and solar. They’ll even make electric cars like the Chevy Volt if they can find a way to get the electricity without burning coal or using nuclear power.

This whole thing is nuts. Taxpayers should not bailout the auto manufacturers. Urge your congressman and US Senator to vote no on an auto bailout!

Could Hillary Still be President Someday?

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

By Peter Andrew ConservativeAmerican.org

After her nomination to be US Secretary of State, will Hillary Clinton still be able to become President someday?  Bottom line: No, probably not.

It certainly seems unlikely that she will have any chance in 2012.  Then-President Brack Obama will be seeking re-coronation and that would mean her earliest shot will be in 2016.  Madame Secretary Hillary will be 69 years old in 2016.  That will make it very hard for her to run and win.  Not impossible, but difficult.

Hillary’s Best Route to the White House…

She will be 5th in line to succeed President Obama if she is sworn is as Secretary of State. Hmmmm.  So what could she do?

Congress - Doing Nothing

Friday, November 21st, 2008

Pelosi's Star Wars "Unlimited Power!!" pose

Pelosi's Star Wars "Unlimited Power!!" pose

“Doing nothing…I don’t think is an option.”  That’s the word from Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Speaker of the House.  She’s talking about her desire to provide $25-Billion for GM, Ford & Chrysler.  She wants another bailout from your wallet to GM’s.  With all due respect, Speaker Pelosi, doing nothing IS an option.

Doing nothing is your best option.  It is what congress does best.

Do us all a favor; do nothing.  Go home.  Have a happy Thanksgiving.

Reid & Pelosi Failure Sends Dow Tumbling Again

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished down about 430 points today to just more than 7,500. This coming on the news that democrats Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi could not round up enough members of their own party to pass a bailout for the American auto industry.

Reid and Pelosi do not need a single republican vote to pass the bailout measure they want to give to GM, Ford, Chrysler and (more importantly) the United Auto Worker’s Union. Rather than admit their failure, they asked Detroit to give them more time to pressure more democrats to vote yes. By asking the automakers for written plans on how they would use a $25-Billion bailout package, they gave themselves another 2 weeks to pressure members of their own party.

Surely Barack Obama won’t have these problems after he is sworn in…will he? Maybe he will! The stock market does not like uncertainty and this day again showed that even with the democrats running congress and the US Senate, you still have no idea what they will do.

Bailout II??!!

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, who we have pointed out before is no conservative American, says democrats should not look to the bailout money already approved to help GM, Ford & Chrysler.  ConservativeAmerican.org does not believe the government should again use your tax dollars to help prevent a private company from failing.  Preventing failure of capitalist private business, ensures failure of capitalism.  This is serious business.  It was nonsense how the nation was rushed into the first HUGE bailout bill.  They sky was not falling and humpty dumpty actually could be put back together again, boys and girls.

Paulson said no today to using that money for car-makers.  He also changed his tune dramatically and said no to buying bad mortgages from banks.  The stock market did not like that news.  Paulson does like the idea of bailing out credit card companies that charge you 20% and 30% interest though.  This is getting nutty.  Nancy Pelosi still is pushing for bailout money for the big three automakers.  There is hope for our side though.  Fox Business is reporting:

“However, one of the biggest headwinds for the car makers is simple sentiment. Many Americans are already irked about the bailouts of companies such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and American International Group. Lawmakers and economists are asking, “where does it end?” in terms of the government doling out money to troubled companies.”

Pelosi Culture of Corruption

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Foxnews.com is reporting Nancy Pelosi is in a bit of trouble…

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi paid her husband’s real estate and investment firm nearly $100,000 from her political action committee over the past decade, a practice that she voted to ban last year and that her party condemned as part of the “culture of corruption” when Republicans did it.” - FOX NEWS

More of the democrat culture of corruption I guess. As we said in a post a few days ago, this woman is a fraud.

Bailout Blame Blitz

Monday, September 29th, 2008

By Peter Andrew ConservativeAmerican.org

Cooler heads prevailed and no bailout was approved today! The stock market took its largest one day point-dive ever, down 777 points, once it learned no free check from Uncle Sam (that’s you and me) would be coming. While we never like to see the market go down, we do have to applaud this as a victory for capitalism and a defeat for the socialist takeover of our economy. That is much more important than a huge drop in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. So, wouldn’t you think someone (like maybe a conservative republican?) would want to take credit for killing this nonsense?

Nope. House Republican Minority Whip Eric Cantor blames it on Nancy Pelosi and her lack of leadership. Pelosi took to the floor before the vote and said this $700-billion bailout was needed because of the “failed economic policies of the Bush Administration.” She had to stick in one more jab at the white house and the Republicans just before the vote. Meanwhile, the democrat socialists’ blame blitz is aimed at the republicans. The dems say they did their part. Not sure how they can say that when 40% of them voted against it.  If Pelosi could lead, she could get her own party to approve this all by itself without a single republican vote.

Pelosi's Finger of Cooperation

Pelosi's Finger of Cooperation

Pelosi says she “extends a finger (okay, she said ‘hand’) of cooperation” to get a new deal done. Gag.

The first one of our two presidential candidates to stand up and say “I am glad this measure was killed and unlike my oponent, I will work to defeat any future bills,” will win the white house. Phone calls to congress are 10 to 1 against this nonsense. So why won’t anyone take credit instead of blaming the other? Obama or McCain could use this as a ticket to the white house. Neither one will though.
