Presumed 2012 Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin writes on her Facebook page this afternoon that it’s time for Americans to stand up for the Navy SEALS. From her Facebook…

“First the Obama Administration opened up the possibility of prosecuting CIA interrogators doing their jobs seeking information from terrorists. Then they tried to go after the Bush Administration lawyers who acted in good faith to protect us in the months after 9/11. Now some of the military brass are court-martialing three brave Navy SEALs for allegedly throwing a single punch at Iraqi terrorist leader Ahmed Hashim Abed. This is wrong. The Washington Times got it right: Save the SEALs. These brave warriors belong in combat, not in the courthouse. They captured the most wanted terrorist in Iraq. We may never know how many other heroic missions they undertook on behalf of our country. The charges should be dropped, and they should be returned to their unit – with our gratitude for their service. Stand up for the SEALs who are standing up for us! - Sarah Palin”

This was the number one scandal of the year on our Obama’s Top 10 Scandals List from 2009. From that post, we learn the details (below):

“Obama Puts Navy Seals on Trial for Capturing a Most-Wanted Terrorist! -We picked this one (as number one on the list) because it is symbolic of what Sarah Palin called the “Back Assward” methodology of this President. He wants to put CIA agents on trial while giving Terrorists Miranda rights, he wants to push socialist health care while ignoring a request for more troops. In the Obama Galaxy, everything is upside down and backwards. He and his administration are so against the grain of this nation, it is astounding he was elected. He could put an end to this scandal with one phone call. So, why doesn’t he? In the upside world that Commander Obama is in charge of, the bad guy terrorists get criminal trials with all the rights of U.S. citizens and the good guy Navy SEALs who capture them get to…GO TO JAIL?!!! A terrorist murdering thug gets a bloody lip (don’t you feel bad for him?) and the radical extremist leadership of our very own nation is prosecuting the soldiers who captured him!! “Instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers. Matthew McCabe, Jonathan Keefe, and Julio Huertas.” ConservativeAmerican.org, for one, thanks them for their service. These guys caught the man responsible for capturing, killing and burning the bodies of several Americans. He then hung the burned bodies from a bridge and got it on video for the whole world to see. A bloody lip seems mild.”

Palin is right. ConservativeAmerican.org is right. McCabe, Keefe and Huertas were right.

I’m still going to ask why it was such a huge story when George W. Bush hit “500″ military deaths, and “1,000″ military deaths and on and on? Couric-BS News used to run nightly stories of deaths. The New York Times had huge coverage when the “Bush Death Count” hit 500.

True to the hypocrisy you can count on from the left, the deaths of these brave men and women are just not important now that Bush is out. The point of the news was never the deaths. It was never meant to tell you about the brave men and women fighting for this great nation. It was all designed to create Viet-Nam-like images in your mind so that Bush could be defeated. Is that too harsh? I don’t think so!

ConservativeAmerican.org has always thought these death counts were foolish. That’s the reason we created the admittedly absurd Obama Death Count; to point out the absurdity of the Bush Death Counts and the blazing hypocrisy of the left. We were right and it continues to be proven day after day.

So, now one website says we have hit 1,000 casualties in the Afghan war (which the Department of Defense disputes) and it is getting some news coverage. That’s because at least SOME of those deaths (some argue all of them) are “Bush’s Fault!” Even Fox News has a story on this magical 1,000 number… without a single mention of the fact the number of soldiers to die under President Obama’s command has topped 500. It’s too late for them to even cover a story that Obama’s count “hit” 500.

The Obama Death Count topped 500 on February 13th and all you get is silence from the MSM. His name was Sgt. John A. Reiners. You can learn more about him, his lovely wife, great son, and dedicated parents here.

ConservativeAmerican.org is the only one even bothering to report on this. The fact Fox, CBS, ABC, NBC and others ignore this story only proves our entire point. The wars were bad when Bush was President. The deaths were awful and the count kept growing and growing when Bush was President. Now that the ONE is President, the war is not such a big deal. The deaths just don’t seem to matter as much.

The President who promised to end the wars and bring all of our troops home now has more than 515 soldier deaths under his command. You can see the entire list here. This is the list Conservative American Mark Levin spoke of on his radio show.

The obvious truth is that every death matters. Each life lost is a terrible loss. We are a nation grateful to the military for its willingness to battle for our freedom.

If the Bush Death Counts were “cool,” (of course they were NOT COOL to us, but to the media and the left they were), then we fairly ask where are the Obama Death Counts? Hmmmm?

We know the answer. They don’t exist (except for the one we keep just to point out the hypocrisy of the left). This is blazing hypocrisy on the part of liberals, progressives, democrats, so-called journalists at major news organizations, and faux anti-war protesters.

Okay all you hot shot news reporters at the big networks…WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?

Critical of President George W. Bush, then Senator Barack Obama said the U.S. is “just air-raiding villages and killing civilians.” He promised to be all Hopey Changey. He promised something different. Yet Obama has continued to air raid villages and kill civilians. In fact, General Stanley McChrystal is taking to the Afghan television to continue Obama’s apology tour and say he is sorry for recent civilian deaths.

Fox News reports, “In the video, translated into the Afghan languages of Dari and Pashto on a NATO Web site, a stern Gen. Stanley McChrystal apologizes for the strike in central Uruzgan province that Afghan officials say killed at least 21 people. The video was broadcast nationally on Afghan television Tuesday.”

An earlier story from Fox noted in January:

“At least one suspected U.S. drone fired on a house in Pakistan’s volatile tribal region Sunday, killing 20 people in the 11th such attack since militants in the area

Obama First Year: Lies, Broken Promises, Flip-Flops & Scandals!

orchestrated a deadly homicide bombing against the CIA in Afghanistan, intelligence officials said. Four missiles slammed into the house in the Shaktoi area of South Waziristan, the same region where a drone strike Thursday targeted a meeting of militant commanders in an apparently unsuccessful attempt to kill Pakistani Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud.”

Sounds like air raiding to us. 5 bad guys were killed in that earlier attack. The five were members of the al-Qaida-linked Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan. The other 15 people killed in the strike were Pakistani Taliban, the officials told Fox. Wonder if any of those 15 were the “moderate Taliban” obama wants to dine with?

Then, from back in May and #359 on the Official Obama Administration Scandals List…

“Paul Ibrahim reports: “KABUL (AFP) — A US and Afghan investigation confirmed Saturday that “a number of civilians” were killed in clashes with Taliban this week although President Hamid Karzai charged that up to 130 (civilians) died in US air strikes…the joint investigation team said it was unable to give firmer figures because all the dead had been buried, some in mass graves. The statement also did not make clear if the dead were killed in air strikes or ground fighting.”

Translation: Bush Air Raids and Civilian deaths=Bad. Obama Air Raids and Civilian deaths=okay. Democrats=Kool-aid drinkers!

Commander-in-Chief Barack H. Obama marked a sad, and unnoticed (except for our website), milestone on February 13th, 2010. That’s the day when three brave men died in Afghanistan, becoming the 500th, 501st and 502nd soldiers to die under Obama’s command.

The Department of Defense officially announced the names of those men today:

500. Staff Sgt. John A. Reiners, 24, of Lakeland, Fla.; died of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit with an improvised explosive device Feb. 13 in Zhari province, Afghanistan. They were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.
501. Sgt. Jeremiah T. Wittman, 26, of Darby, Mont.; died of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit with an improvised explosive device Feb. 13 in Zhari province, Afghanistan. They were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.
502. Spc. Bobby J. Pagan, 23, of Austin, Texas. died of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit with an improvised explosive device Feb. 13 in Zhari province, Afghanistan. They were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

The Ledger.com says Reiners leaves behind a wife, Casey, and a two-year-old son, Lex. Someday, Lex will hear about the hero his father was. Every day, Lex will will join Casey in wishing they could trade the hero story for having John by their side.

KKTV 11 reports…

Fort Carson tells 11 News 24-year-old Staff Sgt. Reiners was serving his third tour when he was killed. He served two previous tours in Iraq since he joined the Army in 2004. He had been awarded more than a dozen medals of honor, including the coveted Purple Heart. He was a native of of Lakeland, Florida. Sgt. Wittman, 26, was serving his second tour when he died on February 13. He served in Iraq from 2004-2005. He was awarded several medals from the Army, including two Army Good Conduct Medal and a National Defense Service Medal. He was a native of Darby, Montana. Spc. Bobby Pagan, of Austin, Texas was serving his first tour. The 23-year-old joined the Army in July of 2008. He was awarded six Army medals, including the National Defense Service Medal.

We have listed the names in the order they were released by the Department of Defense. While these three brave young men all died together, this is the reason we list Reiners first and note him as the 500th. 506 brave fighting men and women have now paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country during President Obama’s term. Each and every one of them is a terrible and tragic loss.

ConservativeAmerican.org’s “Obama Death Count” raises some eyebrows and has caused some controversy. Five days in to Obama’s presidency, we decided we do something admittedly absurd to demonstrate the absurdity of the liberal anti-war leftists. Remember all the Bush Death Count announcements there were when George W. Bush was president? Nightly newscasts featured the latest counts, pictures and names. There was special coverage every time a nice round number of deaths was reached, almost as if it was something to “celebrate,” another weapon in the arsenal used to campaign for Barack Obama. This was absurd. Where are all of those counts now? Isn’t the war still an issue? Aren’t the deaths still terrible? Why is the media no longer interested? Remember Charlie Hubris Gibson saying that the lady he covered camping outside of Bush’s home was no longer news and should just get over it now that Obama is in? It’s nonsense, of course. Our Obama Death Count is not politicizing the deaths of any soldier. ConservativeAmerican.org started the “Obama Death Count” to fairly, and honestly, demonstrate the absurdity of the death counts that went on while George Bush was President. Don’t think it’s fair, or right to do this?

Did you complain about the New York Times? Here’s how the New York Times covered the 500th Afghan war death under George W. Bush. Let’s see if they even mention this 500th death under Barack H. Obama.

So, a word to the wise who will no doubt try to blast us for this story as well… read the story about the Obama Death Count to get your facts correct!

We are not blaming Obama-Biden for the Iraq war, despite Joey Buttufuoco Biden’s attempts this week to credit for the success of the Iraq war. He stated, “I am very optimistic about — about Iraq. I mean, this could be one of the great achievements of this administration.” It’s Scandal # 1,146 on our Official Obama Administration Scandals List, a complete list of lies, broken promises, flip flops and scandals from Team Obama. The list includes numerous broken promises to end the Iraq war and bring all troops home.

In fact, President Obama repeated his lie about brining “all” of the troops home in his recent State of the Union address: “2010 State of Obama # 20 - Lied About Troops Coming Home 1/27/2010 - The President said “All of our troops are coming home.” Oops. That’s a lie (where was Joe Wilson?). He “forgot” about the 50,000 troops he intends to leave behind in Iraq for an open-ended commitment. It’s number 1,064 on the Obama List.

Barack Hussein Obama promised no more screw-ups after his 7th appointment scandal. He’s up to 134 appointment scandals now! The latest involves a special envoy Hussein Obama picked for the Organization of Islamic Conference.

“Obama Appointment Scandal # 134 - Rashad Hussain (White House Tosses Hussain’s Daughter Under the Bus!!)

2/16/2010 Fox News reports: “Obama’s new envoy to the Organization of Islamic Conference, Rashad Hussain, is at the center of a controversy over remarks attributed to him defending a man who later pleaded guilty to conspiring to aid a terrorist group. The Washington Report on Middle East Affairs quoted Hussain in 2004 as calling Sami al-Arian the victim of “politically motivated persecutions” after al-Arian, a university professor, was charged in 2003 with heading U.S. operations of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The United States has designated the Palestinian Islamic Jihad as a foreign terrorist group as far back as 1997. At the time of al-Arian’s arrest, then Attorney General John Ashcroft called it “one of the most violent terrorist organizations in the world.” Al-Arian pleaded guilty in 2006 to conspiracy to aid Palestinian Islamic Jihad and was sentenced to more than four years in prison.

The White House says the controversial remarks defending al-Arian two years earlier were made by his daughter — not by Hussain. Both were part of a panel discussion at a Muslim Students Association conference, but the reporter covering the event told Fox News she stands by the quotes she attributed to Hussain, who was a Yale Law student and an editor of the Yale Law Journal.”

So, it looks like Hussein Obama has a Hussain Rashad problem!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: 2/18/2010: strong> We originally reported that Adriana Alvarez was the 500th soldier to die under the Command of President Barack H. Obama. This is because we had reported on the February 9th death of Adam J. Ray and had received a report of another death of a U.S. Soldier on the 9th. It now (2/17/2010) appears these two stories were, in fact, one and the same. That would make Adam J. Ray the 498th to die under Commander Obama and Adriana Alvarez the 499th. I regret the error and apologize for it.

Because the following three soldiers died in the same attack, it is not possible to single out one of them as having been the 500th death under President Barack H. Obama. It is fair to say, however, that these three were the 500th, 501st and 502nd deaths since President Obama was sworn in.
