Last night we wrote about one of the Associated Democrat Press sources for the news story it did on the resignation of Alaska Gov.Sarah Palin. There’s more!

The AP quoted Jerry McBeath in its news story and described him as a “veteran political science professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.” Check out the bizarre comments he made when AP called him and he said this was a smart move. It is indeed a smart move, but McBeath offers strange comments…

“Alaska is an isolated stage from which to operate if you want to figure in American national politics. I don’t know what she has in mind, some TV show or some national radio show. There are opportunities for her, I’m sure.” “After all, Rush Limbaugh is getting old, and cranky, and the airwaves and the videowaves would benefit form a new present. She certainly is photogenic, and that is her area of experience. So I would say it’s a response to opportunity instead of ‘getting out before they get you,’” he said. As for the state, he said Palin’s departure will reduce the distractions and return Alaska to normal politics.

“She certainly is photogenic and that is her area of experince?!!” What a stupid thing to say. Talk about a demeaning comment to all women. If you’re beautiful, McBeath thinks that must be your “area of experience.” The implication he offers is that she has no other area of experience. Andrea Tantaros would not like that kind of comment! Nor should any woman, for that matter. Then he goes off on a tangent against Rush Hudson Limbaugh! So AP loves that trash talk. He calls Limbaugh old and cranky…look in the mirror, buddy! If he is trying to defend Palin’s move, either AP blew it in reporting that or he blew it in trying to get that message out. If he instead is just trying to spit on a woman politician, he succeeded.
