Palin Endorses Rand Paul

Leading the way Right

By Peter Andrew

Former VP Candidate Sarah Palin has endorsed Rand Paul for U.S. Senate from Kentucky over Bill Johnson. The Palin move means she thinks Bill Johnson, a Conservative American, does not have what it takes to win. Her next best choice was Rand Paul.

ConservativeAmerican.org endorsed Bill Johnson and urged Palin to do the same. We were hoping she would endorse him to give Johnson, the underdog, a fighting chance. No such luck.

With Palin likely to visit the state with Rand Paul, Johnson may no longer have a chance at victory.

Wanna bet on that? There are people calling everyday signing up with Bill.

  2. robbie Says:

Curious as to how this kind of attitude helps support Mr. Johnson……

Palin clearly has more to lose by this endorsement than she has to gain. She is already a lightning rod for the media. Hitching her wagon to the Paul campaign will not be a benefit to any hopes she has for later runs herself.

She has already lost a lot of stauch supporters because of this decision and will undoubtedly lose many more in the future because of this. Ron Paul is considered by many to be way to far right of center for the average voter. His son continues to say he is his own man but had his father in Louisville last week for a $500.00 a handshake meet and greet! There is NO evidence that his apple has fallen more than a few feet from the family tree.

Oh well it is my humble opinion that I am sure will be attacked shortly but I do not believe this works for either canidate in the long run. After all many in Kentucky were no fans of Palins before this. So Rand can lose as many as he gains particularly outside of Jefferson and Fayette Counties.

I don't agree with you. I think Bill Johnson's conservative values in direct opposition to Rand Paul's will give Kentucky the chance to elect a TRULY conservative US Senator. With Palin or without her. http://www.kentuckybill.com

Wanna bet? There are people signing on to support Bill Johnson every day.
We won't be intimidated into sitting down, shutting up or going away!

  6. PeterAndrew Says:

Don't get me wrong. I have endorsed Bill Johnson and don't plan to change that.

    Hope you're right.

My role isn't to carry the water for any particular candidate. I was critical of Bush when he was in office. I couldn't stand John McCain. I have always been positive about Bill Johnson and it's silly for you to suggest otherwise. If Johnson supporters can't stand honesty, and that is what is in this article, then that's a problem they will have to face. To pretend the Palin endorsement won't hurt Johnson is a to stick one's head in the sand. I'm a Conservative American and that's what I push on this site. How quickly you all forget that I was among the first to endorse him!

How did the message go out that people should respond to this article? Facebook?

There is a school of thought that the American people will believe what we're told. In this case, whether or not your endorsement for Bill Johnson remains as solid as before, there are some American people who also call themselves Kentuckians who will take to heart your statement that Mr. Johnson no longer has a chance to be elected.

Think positively, Peter Andrew! WHEN Johnson is elected - not IF he is elected!

I am glad that you haven't changed your mind regarding endorsement of Bill Johnson. Understandably Palin has quite a following but I doubt her endorsement will be a hinderance but one of a nuisance. Johnson is gaining in momentum and I have repeatedly posted you as being one of his endorsers on my blog and in comments. Bill's mighty soldiers are out daily thumping for him and the evidence is beginning to show.

I wasn't attacking you as a fellow supporter and know you were only voicing what others may be thinking. But when some undecided voters read "may no longer have a chance at victory", they could stop comparing and learning about the candidates' issues and beliefs. Bill is already at a disadvantage when it comes to name recognition and a hefty bank account……….

I'm a commentator, not the media spokesperson for an individual candidate. It has nothing to do with being positive.

With Palin likely to visit the state with Rand Pauil, Palin may not have a chance to win in 2012.

  15. Doc Says:

The Bill Johnson for U.S. Senate campaign received the following poll results. Shamrock Polling conducted the statewide poll for an undisclosed client. Questions regarding the poll can be directed to Persistence Consulting (persistenceconsulting@gmail.com). The Johnson for U.S. Senate campaign did not pay for or participate in this poll. The results are consistent with internal polling done by the campaign.

We asked 1,257 likely republican voters the following questions:

“Who are you planning on voting for US Senate in the republican primary on May 18th?”

    Trey Grayson 27%
    Bill Johnson 23%
    Rand Paul 21%
    Undecided 29%

We then asked are you strongly, moderately, or leaning towards your candidate?

    Rand Paul 7% 27% 66%
    Bill Johnson 72% 21% 7%
    Trey Grayson 52% 14% 34%

    Margin of Error 4.5%
