Trig Palin Mocked
The only Official Sarah Palin Fan Club!

The AP quotes Alaska Governor Sarah Palin saying the following…
Palin also complained that her 14-month-old son, Trig, who was diagnosed with Down’s syndrome, had been “mocked and ridiculed by some mean-spirited adults recently.” She didn’t elaborate.
She didn’t have to elaborate! We reported days ago on the trash the Talking Points Memo website refuses to take down despite numerous complaints. You can read the offensive jokes here if you want though I warn you that you might be offended.
As we noted the other day in our story, TPM put up some Palin jokes to get people to visit the site. I can save you the trip.
While the final joke on the list the site put together is offensive (it involves the use of feminine protection), those who offered comments are even more offensive and vile. At least two people reported one of the offensive responses as abuse to TPM and the site has yet to do anything about it. The comment in question either came from a hate-filled liberal or a sick mind. This person added a comment, supposedly a joke, saying that Sarah Palin’s mouth is like another part of her body we won’t name here, however “only some of the things that come out” of that part are “retarded.”
Clearly the comment is way out of line, hugely offensive and ignorant. Is that enough elaboration for you, AP?!
Still today, TPM is leaving this disgusting insult up on its site. They have left it there for a week already. Why?
Email them at talk@talkingpointsmemo.com with the subject line: “Abuse Report” to let them know that while it is fine to make jokes about a public figure, to make vile, perverted and disgusting jokes about her son with Downs Syndrome is WAY out of line.

TPM wasn’t talking about Trig. The 10 jokes were about her. Because, as you may have heard, a lot of people think she’s not very bright. The comment from a reader is definitely in poor taste, but that’s an individual talking, not TPM.
Also: It’s a free country. If she can’t take mean jokes, she chose the wrong line of work. But we knew that already.

So, you don’t think TPM has any responsibility for the material on its site? Hmmm. That would be a hard position to defend. Uninformed people think Palin is not very bright. They only get that from Katie Couric and Tina Fey. Read our post explaining why Palin is more qualified than Bill Clinton was when he ran or Howard Dean was when he ran. TPM could pull that comment off. People have complained and asked them to do so. They have no intention of doing so. Therefore, it is TPM’s responsibility.
I suppose you’re cool with it if someone made jokes about a half-black man not being smart enough to be president. Hey, if he can’t take it…right?
She can, and has “taken” mean jokes. This one is about her son Trig. You apparently think it is okay to make fun of her son with Downs Syndrome. Free country after all, so what’s the harm?
Have a great 4th of July and stop back anytime. Your comments are always welcome even if we disagree with each other.
