UPDATE 11:10am: Mark Davis is substituting for Rush Monday. I guess we have to wait another day to hear Rush talk about this!
As a continuing education student at the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies, I can pretty much guarantee you that Rush Limbaugh was NOT duped! In fact, I’m going to go out alone on a limb and suggest that Rush Limbaugh created this hoax and the only ones being duped are those who have written that Rush was a fool for falling for a fake college paper from Barack Obama. Allow me, ladies and gentlemen, to explain as I sit alone on this limb…
Media reports started to flourish on Saturday stating that Limbaugh had been had. The stories basically put forth the notion that Rush fell for a hoax, a made up story about a college thesis that was supposedly written by Barack Hussein Obama (mmmm, mmmm, mmmm). Limbaugh, supposedly unaware that the controversial statements were not true, discussed the fake Obama quotes on the U.S. Constitution at length during his show on Friday.
Here’s the deal folks…Rush Limbaugh is an artist. He is the best radio broadcaster in the galaxy! He frequently, as he puts it, uses the absurd to demonstrate the absurd. That is, he brilliantly creates an elaborate illusion on his radio show. He creates something that is both profoundly absurd and believable at the same time. Stringing the audience along (sometimes even the best of us fall for it), he will continue his absurd demonstration. Sometimes for hours. Only toward the end of the show, will Limbaugh finally explain that it was all done on purpose. The absurd example he dreamed up was used to make a point. It was used to demonstrate how absurd the left is when they behave that same way.
So what was the point of his absurd example? What was the point of this hoax that he aired as if it were fact? It’s pretty simple actually.
Rush Limbaugh is going to have fun on his radio show today. Folks, the only ones that have been duped are the gullible media reporters that have gleefully run stories about how the Great Conservative, the “Leader of the GOP,” was duped.
Make no mistake. They love this story! Finally they can say to Rush Hudson Limbaugh (mmmm, mmmm, mmmm) we “Gotcha!” It fits right into their stereotype of Limbaugh. Ah, but Rush knows that. He knows these guys like every inch of what he calls his “glorious naked body.” Limbaugh will get the last laugh in a matter of hours.
Today, you will learn what Rush was up to. This supposed hoax that he is reported to have fallen for, is all about the NFL. That’s right. And yes, I am serious.
The elaborate commentary he went through was done to demonstrate the damage that can be done to an individual when someone willfully decides to, without checking or verifying, use a false statement as if it is “the truth” in order to damage someone else. Rush created the hoax. It is a hoax on anyone who fell for it. It is especially a hoax on the media that laughed about how dumb Rush was to fall for this (after all he is so critical of them when they fall for unsubstantiated garbage on their TV News shows).
He wanted to show how riled up and excited people could become if they were presented with information, false information, that they wanted to believe about someone. Conservative Americans like me want to believe this stuff about President Barack Obama. It fits our ideas about him. In fact, Obama did, in real life, express many of the sentiments covered during a radio interview years back in Chicago. This information was damaging to the President and we wanted it! We could just taste it. Getting the point here?
Flip that around and use it on Rush Limbaugh and the NFL. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson decided to present false information about Rush Limbaugh. The media wanted to believe it. This is the kind of stuff they want to prove about Rush; that he is a racist! It fit their ideas about him. In fact, Rush Limbaugh did, in real life discuss his feeling that the NFL wanted a quarterback to succeed because he was black (so what?). The false information was damaging to Rush Limbaugh and the media wanted it! They could just taste it! They ran with it until they had defeated Limbaugh’s NFL bid. Only after it was over did a few of them admit they ran information about Rush Limbaugh that was not true. They had no proof. They couldn’t back up any of it. Some still have not retracted the statements or apologized. With me now?
Pay close attention to what Limbaugh said at the end of his Friday show…

“Now, I got a note from a researcher who has been scouring the Internet, and the note says this: “Rush Limbaugh: Mini-warning on these quotes.” Because the paper that Obama wrote, “Aristocracy Reborn,” the first ten pages were all that reporter Joe Klein was permitted to see; and it says here that Klein did write about it for TIME Magazine. A researcher has been scouring the Internet and can’t find any sources for the quote. “The blog that Ledeen cites doesn’t have supporting info,” supposedly. The source post that was from August, says it’s going to be in an upcoming report from Joe Klein, but the researcher can’t find anything that has come out since, and nothing in Klein’s blog. There have been no matches found on the Internet for any of the info or quotes other than the source posting. So I now say that the blog from which this came has no sourcing data other than Joe Klein upcoming report and Joe Klein hasn’t written his upcoming report. So we have to hold out the possibility that this is not accurate. However, I have had this happen to me recently. I have had quotes attributed to me that were made up, and when it was pointed out to the media that the quotes were made up, they said, “It doesn’t matter! We know Limbaugh thinks it anyway.”
Did you hear him? It doesn’t matter if it isn’t true, because they just “knew” Limbaugh “thinks it anyway.” Hmmmm. He also said,…
“Sort of like Dan Rather said, “I don’t care if these documents are forged. I know that Bush did what he did at the National Guard. I don’t care if the documents are forged.” I don’t care if the Limbaugh quotes are made up. So, I can say, “I don’t care if these quotes are made up. I know Obama thinks it….So we’ve got a supposed piece from his college thesis at Columbia where he complains that the Constitution didn’t talk about the distribution of wealth. So we know that it’s on his mind. So even if he didn’t say it, I know he thinks it. That’s how it works now in the media…I’m also told that the blog containing the passage on Obama’s thesis is a satire blog. So it’s one of these sites like ScrappleFace or The Onion or some such thing. So I shout from the mountaintops: “It was satire!” But we know he thinks it. Good comedy, to be comedy, must contain an element of truth, and we know how he feels about distribution of wealth. He’s mad at the courts for not going far enough on it. So we stand by the fabricated quote because we know Obama thinks it anyway. That’s how it works in the media today.”
So, as I hope my tree limb doesn’t break under the weight of my theory…I sit here wondering. Did Rush know this was a hoax all along? Did he simply use the absurd to demonstrate the absurdity he had gone through with the NFL? Stay tuned…

Yup, I agree with you. Rush is not stupid! As today's show unfolds, Media Matters for America will once again be shown the exit door to investigative journalism. What a bunch of hacks!

Rush is Rush. He is an actor that knows he is popular because of radical statements and rants. He knows they dont have to be true or even based on any facts at all. People will believe anything he says as gospel. And it makes him Millions so he will continue to do as he has for years. There are many of us who like it and like him, and he knows it.

Our "friends" at the Huffington Post are upset about this post!
" loki" wrote that we're:
"not fox but just as dimwitted." !!
http://conservativeamerican.org/conservatives/rus...
then added,
"the boneheads trying to justify Rush Limpbawls spreading a hoax paper on President Obama."
Posted 10:14 PM on 10/26/2009
Then, "New lafayette2009" chimed in with this…
"Well that's a fair and balanced web site complete with the "Obama Death Count. What a Country!!"

It does get tiring telling people they actually have to read the story, The Obama Death Count, to understand what we are doing. We're using the absurd Obama Death Count to demonstrate how absurd the Bush Death Counts were. They'll never get it, because they don't want to!

Make up a lie so that people will see the truth for a lie, when the truth was the truth.

Interesting theory, but seems to simply prove that ditto-heads believe things. The Yes-Men hoax on the CofC, or any good April 1st hoax, are immediately revealed. Had a left wing outlet done a multi-day "hoax" on a right wing media, there would be general outrage all around, as it would be considered misleading, rather than humorous. As for the NFL, Rushbo is famous and rich as a lighting rod. He enjoys that status all the way to the bank and the ratings book. The Millionaires Club called NFL owners don't want lightning rods, they want quiet rich guys, even as minority owners. The same ones that raise money for orphanages, put on teas for the homeless and have dinners for the needy. Not "look at me" I want the president to fail, etc, etc. They are not going to invite Jesse Jackson, Rev Wright, or Joy Behar as a minority holder either. Each carries too many "negatives" and will cause people to disrupt the NFL brand. Nothing sinister there, simple marketing 101.

So Rusky does not fact check? Wow, what a surprised.
Oh, and when contronted that he was punked, he defended himself by saying "we stand by the fabricated quote because we know Obama thinks it anyway"
After so many years of mis-labeling and mis-characterizing others he gets smacked down by the NFL "Not For Limbaugh". Great job NFL.
