Commander Obama, Bass Ackwards

When it comes to handling the military, the current Commander in Chief does things Bass Ackwards. Just one year ago, you couldn’t have made up insanity like this! Now, poor and harmful leadership is the norm. Let’s look at some examples.
SITUATION # 1: The general you appointed to be in charge of an on-going war tells you he needs 40,000 additional troops to secure a victory
IN OUR AMERICA - This is your general, your top commander in the field with the task of winning the war. You give him the troops as quickly as possible and ask if he needs anything else. If you, as Commander in Chief, ever feel you have lost your confidence in this general’s ability to get the job done, you dismiss them and find someone who can. However, as long as they have your confidence, you give them what they need to win. That’s your job.
UNDER OBAMA’S BASS ACKWARDS COMMAND - First you pass socialist health care in the House. If you risk alienating people with the wrong decision on the war prior to the vote, you lose. You’re not sure the liberals and socialists backing you will go for the idea of more troops. You stall. You ask for more options and set up some photo shoots so people can see you meeting with other serious-looking people to discuss options. Months go by. More soldiers die without the increased support your own general asked for! You wind up with four options from sending all the troops the general wanted to sending some troops but not the number your general asked for, to some wishy washy plan to give him some troops for battle and some to train people so we can get out of Afghanistan, to just taking the loss, quitting and getting the heck out now. After months of delay, you decide none of these options allows you to effectively play both sides of the issue and you announce that you want more options as you head to Asia. You delay longer. More soldiers die. This is nuts, folks.
SITUATION # 2: A Muslim Terrorist becomes a major in the U.S. Army. You’re watching him, but have not acted. He yells “Allahu Akbar!” and embarks on a terrorist massacre at a military base, killing 14 people (13 adults and 1 unborn child).
IN OUR AMERICA - You drop everything, forget anything that was on the agenda for the day and address the nation. You use the word “terrorist” when you inform the people about the terrible terrorist massacre that has taken place. You express the sympathy we all feel for the families of those killed and for the injured victims. You indicate that you have already prayed for these people and you ask the nation to join you in a brief moment of prayer for all of the victims. Then, you express the outrage we all feel. You promise that those responsible will be held accountable. You convey that the U.S.A. will not let cowardly terrorist acts carried out by religious extremists defeat us. You praise the people who put an end to the massacre. You promise a top to bottom review of how this could have happened and you announce who is in charge of conducting that review. You declare that others at home or around the world who may have been involved will be hunted down and punished. You conclude the brief announcement by making it clear that one or two bad apples do not make up the American military. You ask Americans to do all they can to support all the good, brave men and women who make up the armed forces. You call each of the 13 families for a private conversation. You ask the media to tell the truth about there having been 14 deaths, not 13 (including the unborn child of one of the victims). In coming days, you make clear what progress has been made. You attend memorial services. You visit the wounded. You invite the civilian police heroes to the White House to thank them. You make sure every federal terrorism charge that can be filed is filed against the shooter and you put him to death, or put him away for life after he is convicted.
UNDER OBAMA’S BASS ACKWARDS COMMAND - In order not to alarm anyone, you continue on with the day’s business. When you address the nation, you fail to realize none of your national audience knows of, or even cares about, some conference you have stopped in to address. So you talk to them first, before stumbling through a weak announcement about what has happened. You are careful not to use the word “terrorist” when you make the announcement and in days to come, reminding your staff to avoid the word as well. You meet with top advisers to come up with a list of “negative rights” to give to your employees. These include you must not use the word terrorism, you must not make any reference to the death of the unborn child inside the womb of one of the shooting victims…that fetal tissue mass was not a real person and you must not talk about God or prayer. Top generals get the orders to go out and join the President in encouraging people not to jump to conclusions despite mounds of evidence showing the shooter was an extremist Muslim Terrorist. You avoid any talk of prayer or a higher power than yourself. You quickly announce a previously scheduled (but appeared no where on any released schedule) trip to visit injured troops for pictures. You do attend the memorial service and after taking a beating from the public, you do offer some stronger words about killing in the name of God. You are prepared to take the flack from the left about using the word, “God.”

SITUATION # 3: Prior to the Fort Hood shooting, the Naval Academy Color Guard is to appear at the World Series.
IN OUR AMERICA - Great! You love those guys and make plans to get this on your schedule so you can watch as well.
UNDER OBAMA’S BASS ACKWARDS COMMAND - You try to find out who approved this and what their motives were. This is an all white-guy group and we cannot have that. We need to show we are not a bunch of white guy Muslim-haters clinging to guns and the notion of a God. You get mad when you learn that the Navy Times and other media are reporting on the steps you took to correct this situation. They report that two white midshipmen were removed from the performance in New York City and replaced with a Pakistani-American man with a cool Muslim name and a white woman (apparently no black woman could be found) so the group would appear more diverse. The military’s top priority needs to be the acceptance of cultural diversity. All this talk of killing people and blowing things up and victory makes you uncomfortable. You send out poor Capt. Matthew Klunder, commandant of midshipmen, to dispute what happened. He said he considered replacing two members but decided to add two extra people instead, expanding the group from six to eight members. However, Fox news reports only six people ended up participating in the Game 2 routine at Yankee Stadium because one of the two additions — Midshipman 2nd Class Zishan Hameed — forgot parts of his uniform and the color guard performs in even numbers only. You pray Glenn Beck is still sick.
2010 is coming and we need to take our America back from the socialist democrats! — P.S. Please note that we make no assumptions at all about Midshipman 2nd Class Zishan Hameed other than to assume he is a brave and wonderful member of the navy willing to stand up for America and fight for what is right. We are grateful to him, and all in the Navy and other branches of service.
