Deficit? Dems no longer Care

“Fiscal policy in the United States is on an unsustainable path…deficits are likely to grow much larger as health and retirement costs mount for the baby boom generation…at best, these deficits will gradually harm the future income of Americans. At worst, they could trigger a fiscal crisis which could accelerate and possibly exacerbate the damage.”

- Peter Orszag, Obama Budget Chief & Senior Fellow at the liberal Brookings Institution

Orzag & Obama

Orszag & Obama

At first glance, you might be tempted to think the above quote came from a conservative American.  However, one of the nation’s liberal leaders made the comment when democrats still cared about the budget deficit.  The same lefty who made the comment now runs the Obama Office of Management & Budget.  I know what you’re thinking; “You have got to be kidding.”  Wish I was.  The reason Orszag and his fake pals cared so much was that a republican was in charge in December of 2004 when Orszag made the comment.  In the same article, the Orszag intelligentsia suggested wiping out tax cuts, reducing social security benefits and increasing payments to social security.  But, back to the deficit.  Orszag said “Budget deficits matter because they reduce national saving and thus reduce future national income.” Gosh, with language like that you’d be tempted to think deficits were important…right?

Wrong.  At least it’s wrong if you are a democrat socialist, like Orszag, working for Obama.  You see, conservative Americans stand for things.  When beliefs are founded on principles, they don’t change on a whim, or with the election of a new leader.

With liberals, beliefs are founded on the desire for power. They do change on a whim and vary greatly depending on who is in the White House.  This time they have elected their hero.  Obama can say one thing and do the opposite better than any of them.  Deficits are no longer a concern.

The Associated Press reports President “Obama is not simply proposing a budget that assumes a jaw-dropping deficit of $1.75 trillion this year, a quadruple increase from the year before. He’s trying to redirect strong currents in American society.” AP reports Obama wants the proposals done “largely in concert, as an interrelated plan to undo major elements of President Ronald Reagan’s conservative movement.”

This is yet another instance of blazing hypocrisy on fire in front of Charles Hubris Gibson and others in the mainstream media.  It’s odd how they not only don’t see the fire, they can’t even feel its heat.  Hey Charlie, why don’t you ask Orszag why deficits are no longer important? Normally I watch FOX News, but they make that tough on Fridays by putting on the biggest ego in television; Geraldo Rivera.  When he comes on, I shut them off.  I’d rather watch CNN or MSNBC than that loser.  The reason I bring him up is that the other day (before I could find the remote to change the channel) he actualy says the Brookings Institute was a mainstream and “certainly not liberal” organization.  What a liar.  No one even challenged him.  He is taking a page from the Obama skin-in-the-game playbook: say whatever you want, everyone will just believe you.

This deficit hypocrisy is beyond belief.

One Response to “Deficit? Dems no longer Care”

  1. IDIOTS FOR OBAMA » Blog Archive » OBAMA LIES 21 TIMES IN ONE HOUR PRESS CONFERENCE! Says:

[...] 11.ObamaCare Press Conference Lie # 11 7/22/9 Obama used his own “new math” to claim he reduced the deficit! He said doing nothing would mean a budget deficit of $9.3-Trillion over ten years, something he can’t possibly know. But, he said with his changes it will only be $7.1 trillion in ten years. He is already up to $1-trillion in the first year (and climbing rapidly). So, how does he claim that it will go down so dramatically while he increases healthcare spending? CBS News Chip Reed asked him about it at an earlier press conference (click here to see the video) basically “asking what about years 6, 7, 8 and 9 of his budget when the deficits keep going up, up, up. The president said “we’ll make new budgets by then,” and basically not to worry about it since it is so far away!!” – So, the President is using ficticious future budget cuts from a time when he may not even be president to claim that he is reducing the budget deficit!
