Keeping Club Gitmo Going

The Democrats want to keep the terrorist prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba going for a while. At least until they figure out what to do with the terrorists if they do decide to close Club Gitmo.
Democrat-Socialists were falling over each other with contradicting statements (Harry Reider said it was no problem the White House did not have a plan to release the prisoners first, and Dick Durbin said it was a problem) and botched press conferences. No one seems to know who is in charge. Fox reports:
Senate Democrats threw cold water on President Obama’s plans to close the Guantanamo Bay detention center Tuesday, pulling money for the closure from a $91 billion war spending request and publicly opposing the transfer of any detainees to U.S. soil. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Democrats not only oppose the release of detainees into the United States but also oppose the transfer of detainees to U.S. prisons. “We will never allow terrorists to be released in the United States,” he said, adding: “Part of what we don’t want is for them to be put in prisons in the United States. We don’t want them around in the United States.”
Read the entire piece here. Eric Holder told congress on 5/7/9 that some of those held aren’t really “terrorists” and those people could be released in the USA. Quite a different song than the one Reid was singing.
