UPDATE: “President Obama declared a national emergency Friday related to the outbreak of H1N1 flu, allowing health officials greater leeway under federal regulations to respond to the virus. The virus has claimed the lives of 1,000 Americans, but it isn’t clear yet whether the outbreak will be any worse than the annual outbreak of seasonal flu.”

Back in April, the Obama Administration assured the nation it was ready for the swine flu outbreak. Even though it was only April, the preparations were in order and they were ready.

From page 6 of the official Obama Administration Scandals List…

“Obama & The Swine Flu Outbreak 4/27/9 While President Obama was out golfing (imagine what the press would have said if a republican president had done that!), Homeland Security Chieftess Janet Napolitano said the USA is ready to handle the Swine Flu outbreak. The news conference went to her by default because the President has yet to appoint a reasonable person to serve as Health & Human Services Secretary. Three months in to his term, 19 key positions remain open at HHS as the nation prepares for what some fear could be a pandemic.”

So what did happen? Why did the Obama administration lie about being ready? Kathleen Sebelius was nominated and approved as the new Secretary of the Department of Health & Abortion Services. She and her smooching partner started off on a national tour to try to ram socialist health care down our throats.

Things Sebelius was not doing include:

1. Checking in with manufacturing companies to make certain the proper number of doses of flu and H1N1 vaccines would be available on time
2. Learning of any problems manufacturers might face and stepping in with the full force and cash of the federal government (stimulate this!) to fix any potential manufacturing concerns
3. Spending enough time on this issue (because she was too busy pushing government-run health care)
4. Doing her job
