As we wrap up 2009, it’s worth noting the many scandals involving Barack Obama and his new administration. There were more than 100 appointment scandals alone! We’ll deal with those tomorrow. As for today, Christmas Eve, we present Obama’s Top 10 Scandals! This was the hardest of the week’s lists to prepare with so many huge items to pick from.

First some dishonorable mentions that didn’t make the top ten: The entire Health “reform” debate itself…nothing more than a socialist takeover, the fact he gave away a $4-Billion government holding (Chrysler) to the UAW…simply gave it away! And to do so, he stole it from the people legally entitled to it, dismissing a voter intimidation case against the Black Panthers despite damning video evidence, firing the GM CEO, threatening to fire the CitiGroup CEO, threatening a U.S. Congressman “Don’t think we’re not keeping score, brother!”, taking luxury vacations and holding lavish weekly parties at the White House during the worst economic meltdown since the depression, stealing the census, and having a no-prayer-zone national day of “prayer.” Any one of those is worthy of being on the list. But we promised to pick the top ten.

10. National Endowment for the Obama Arts Scandal! – Feds use the National Endowment for the Arts to Promote the ObamaCare Nightmare?!!! – Syndicated Columnist George Will of the Washington Post reports: “This is just the beginning,” Yosi Sergant told participants in an Aug. 10 conference call that seems to have been organized by the National Endowment for the Arts and certainly was joined by a functionary from the White House Office of Public Engagement. The call was the beginning of the end of Sergant’s short tenure as NEA flack — he has been reassigned. The call also was the beginning of a scandal that illuminates something gargantuan — the Obama administration’s incontinent lust to politicize everything. Sergant’s comments, made to many individuals and organizations from what is cloyingly called “the arts community,” continued: “This is the first telephone call of a brand-new conversation. We are just now learning how to really bring this community together to speak with the government.” Wrong preposition. Not “with” the government, but for the government. Did the White House initiate the conference call-cum-political pep rally? Or did the NEA, an independent agency, spontaneously politicize itself?
9. IG-Gate! The Firing of an Inspector for Daring to Investigate an Obama Friend!- The Associated Press reports Inspector General Gerald Walpin was fired. “Obama’s move follows an investigation by Walpin finding misuse of federal grants by a nonprofit education group led by Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, who is an Obama supporter and former NBA basketball star. Johnson and a nonprofit education academy he founded ultimately agree to repay half of $847,000 in grants it had received from AmeriCorps.” – Obama can’t hire good people and now we know he can’t even fire the right people! Amazing. UPDATE 6/18/9 – Fox News: “The government watchdog President Obama canned for allegedly being “confused” and “disoriented” fired back sharply Wednesday, saying the White House explanation for removing him was “insufficient,” “baseless” and “absolutely wild.” Gerald Walpin, who until last week was the inspector general for the Corporation for National and Community Service, told FOXNews.com that part of Obama’s explanation was a “total lie” and that he feels he’s got a target on his back for political reasons. “I am now the target of the most powerful man in this country, with an army of aides whose major responsibility today seems to be to attack me and get rid of me,” Walpin said.” UPDATE 6/20/9 YouTube video shows Kevin Johnson saying both that he has pull with Michelle and Barack Obama and later that he has no pull with them!

8. Ignoring the ClimateGate Scandal of the Century! – Sibby Online reports: “Obama boldly proclaimed that the world has moved “one step closer” to a “strong operational agreement” on climate change at next month’s Copenhagen summit. Countries must “reach a strong operational agreement that will confront the threat of climate change while serving as a stepping-stone to a legally binding treaty,” he told a press conference with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. I thought to myself, is this guy crazy? Is Obama on drugs? Is Obama that insulated from reality that 5 days after the greatest international scandal in science was exposed since Darwinian evolution 150 years ago, Obama doesn’t express outrage that the scientists and scientific data behind the climate-change–green movement is all a Big Lie? Moreover, he displays his arrogance even more by redoubling his efforts to cram this climate-change fascism down the throats of the American people.” – Meanwhile, Michelle Malkin reports the Obama reaction has simply been a big “Who Cares?” From Malkin: “White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs — echoing data destruction expert/energy czar Carol Browner — says ClimateGate has no bearing on Obama’s push for massive global warming taxes/intervention. The science is “settled.” Yeah, who cares about the global warming scandal of the century?”
7. The New York Flyover Scandal! – The Politco: “Moving to fend off outrage from New York officials, the White House military director apologized for flying Air Force One and an accompanying fighter jet low near Ground Zero as part of a photo shoot Monday. President Barack Obama was not aboard when the huge 747 Air Force jet buzzed across Lower Manhattan, prompting evacuations, 911 calls and frightful memories of the Sept. 11 attacks in 2001. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he had not been informed of the flight and was “furious” over the incident.” UPDATE 5/5/9 CBS News: The photos of Air Force One’s low flyover of Manhattan will not be released. NOTE: Eventually some photographs were released by an embarrassed White House.
6. Stimulus Spends $533,000 to Create One Job! – CouricBS News & ProPublica report: “Let’s start with the 30,000 jobs themselves. The federal contracts in question represented $16 billion in stimulus spending. Assuming the number of created or saved jobs reported by each contract recipient was accurate—which, as we’ve reported before, is still an open question—that breaks down to $533,000 for each job. That’s more than five times the projection of the president’s own Council of Economic Advisers , which estimated in May that every $92,136 in government spending would create one job for one year…but wait: The data released this week covers only the jobs directly created by federal stimulus money so far. It doesn’t cover indirect jobs — the people who make the materials that contractors need to complete their project, or make the sandwich when a construction worker buys lunch from the proverbial roadside diner. So, if the $16 billion in federal stimulus contracts generated 30,383 direct jobs, how many indirect jobs were created or saved? We asked the White House, which told us they believe that for each direct job created or saved, there is one indirect job. Assuming that’s right, that $16 billion created or saved some 60,000 jobs — which still clocks in at $267,000 per person..”
5. Obama’s Acorn Scandal! – Barack Obama got his start in being a community agitator with the group called “Acorn.” In recently televised example after example, some Acorn employees have been caught apparently breaking the law. The Acorn group has long been viewed by critics to be nothing more than a cover for the democrat party’s efforts to cheat to win elections. CNN Reports Obama’s Acorn group is in even more trouble now, “Two employees at the Baltimore, Maryland, branch of the liberal community organizing group ACORN were caught on tape allegedly offering advice to a pair posing as a pimp and prostitute on setting up a prostitution ring and evading the IRS… The video shows the pair approaching two women working at the ACORN Baltimore office and asking them for advice on how to set up a prostitution ring involving more than a dozen underage girls from El Salvador. One of the ACORN workers suggests that Giles refer to herself as a “performing artist” on tax forms and declare some of the girls as dependents to receive child tax credits. “Stop saying prostitution,” the woman, identified by the filmmaker as an ACORN tax expert, tells Giles. The other woman tells them, “You want to keep them clean … make sure they go to school.” UPDATE 9/14/9: Not only Baltimore, but Washington D.C. and New York…Even More Acorn people advising others to break the law! Will the Obama Justice Department ever investigate Acorn?? UPDATE 9/15/9 – Republican Senator Richard Shelby of Alabama calls for “an “immediate and thorough” investigation of (ACORN). House Republicans also wrote a letter to President Obama asking him to use his authority to end all federal funding for ACORN and break all government ties with the organization…The (request) comes after the Senate voted 83-7 Monday to cut off the group from Housing and Urban Development grants…9 lawmakers, 8 of them Republican, did not vote. Sens. Roland Burris, D-Ill.; Dick Durbin, D-Ill.; Bob Casey, D-Pa.; Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y.; Patrick Leahy, D-Vt.; Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.; and Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., voted against the Senate measure. Meanwhile, Conservative American Ken Blackwell writes at Fox News that “Now that a third ACORN video has surfaced, a pattern emerges of ACORN workers willing to help people engage in prostitution, tax fraud, housing fraud, and even human trafficking. Under federal law, a RICO (the Racketeer Influenced & Corrupt Organizations Act) investigation is now warranted. Three strikes and you’re out, ACORN.”And there’s brand new ACORN video! UPDATE 9/16/9 The arrogant and retiring Charles “Hubris” Gibson of ABCDEmocrat News tells a radio reporter he is not even familiar with this story! UPDATE 9/17/9 Reuters reports politicians are running from Acorn now as congress also votes to cut some funding from the scandal-plagued Obama group. UPDATE 9/28/9 – The IRS already cut its ties with ACORN and now Fox says Bank of America has also dumped ACORN. Acorn elected the group’s hero and now the group is falling apart? UPDATE 10/6/9 The Palin-Hating U.S. Democrat News and World Socialist Report magazine says, “ACORN Scandal COULD Embarrass Obama!” Could?! UPDATE 11/28/9: Politico says Obama’s Justice Department has ruled the Fed can still give money to his pals at ACORN! Obama’s Census Bureau Dumps Obama’s Acorn! Barack Obama was a community organizer for Acorn and promised to give them a prominent voice in his administration. Now, from the New York Times, “The Census Bureau on Friday severed its ties with Acorn, a community organization that Republicans have accused of voter-registration fraud….“It is clear that Acorn’s affiliation with the 2010 census promotion has caused sufficient concern in the general public, has indeed become a distraction from our mission, and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 census efforts,” (Census Director Robert) Groves wrote.” –Republicans have been pressing for this to happen. 4. Reading Terrorists Their Rights! – How far off the left deep end can this neo-socialist President go?! This one is absolutely nutty. Fox News: “A senior Republican on the House Intelligence Committee is accusing the Obama administration of quietly ordering the FBI to start reading Miranda rights to suspected terrorists at U.S. military detention facilities in Afghanistan. The move is reportedly creating chaos in the field among the CIA, FBI and military personnel, according to Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich. The soldiers, especially, he says, are frustrated that giving high value detainees Miranda rights — the right to remain silent, the right to an attorney — is impeding their ability to pursue intelligence on the battlefield, according to a story first reported by the Weekly Standard. “What I found was lots of confusion and very frustrated people on the front lines who are trying to, well, make Afghanistan successful for the United States and its allies,” said Rogers, who serves on the House Intelligence Committee. Rogers, a former FBI special agent who served in the U.S. Army, just returned from Afghanistan and a visit to Bagram Air Base, where he said the rights are being read. “I witnessed it myself, talked to the people on the ground,” he said. “What you have is two very separate missions colliding in the field in a combat zone. Again, anytime that you offer confusion in that environment that’s already chaotic and confusing enough, you jeopardize a soldier’s life.” UPDATE 6/25/9: Fox News quotes U.S. Sen. John Cornyn: “I believe it unnecessarily undermines our ability to gain valuable intelligence from terrorist detainees who would rather talk to their lawyers than to U.S. interrogators. And if this ill-conceived practice is allowed to continue, I fear we are headed down a slippery slope that could lead to dangerous scenarios where American soldiers and Marines are forced to pause and read would-be suicide bombers Miranda rights before detaining them.”
3. Obama: White Cops are Stupid! – President Obama was caught leaving the truth out of his statement on the arrest of one of his friends. From the Associated Press and Yahoo! News: “OBAMA: “I don’t know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played in that. But I think it’s fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home, and, number three, what I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there’s a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately.” THE FACTS: The facts are in dispute between black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. and the white police sergeant who arrested him at his Cambridge, Mass., home when officers went there to investigate a reported break-in. But this much is clear: Gates wasn’t arrested for being in his own home, as Obama implies, but for allegedly being belligerent when the sergeant demanded his identification. The president did mention that the professor was charged with disorderly conduct. Charges were dropped.” – Pretty amazing that a President of the United States would stoop so low as to call several police officers, not public figures, “stupid.”

2. Obama Keeps Nixon-Style Enemies List! – The White House is apparently breaking the law with its fascist-like list of opponents it is asking people to email in. From Fox News Analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano: “The White House is in bit of a conundrum because of this privacy statute that prohibits the White House from collecting data and storing it on people who disagree with it,” Judge Andrew Napolitano, a FOX News analyst, said Friday. “There’s also a statute that requires the White House to retain all communications that it receives. It can’t try to rewrite history by pretending it didn’t receive anything,” he said. “If the White House deletes anything, it violates one statute. If the White House collects data on the free speech, it violates another statute.” Napolitano was referring to the Privacy Act of 1974, which was passed after the Nixon administration used federal agencies to illegally investigate individuals for political purposes. Enacted after Richard Nixon’s resignation in the Watergate scandal, the statute generally prohibits any federal agency from maintaining records on individuals exercising their right to free speech.” — So how will the nation’s first Socialist President deal with this??!! Actually, he made jokes about it to the laughter and applause of his socialist-democrat friends. He can joke all he wants, facts are facts.

1. Obama Puts Navy Seals on Trial for Capturing a Most-Wanted Terrorist! -We picked this one because it is symbolic of what Sarah Palin called the “Back Assward” methodology of this President. He wants to put CIA agents on trial while giving Terrorists Miranda rights, he wants to push socialist health care while ignoring a request for more troops. In the Obama Galaxy, everything is upside down and backwards. He and his administration are so against the grain of this nation, it is astounding he was elected. He could put an end to this scandal with one phone call. So, why doesn’t he?

   In the upside world that Commander Obama is in charge of, the bad guy terrorists get criminal trials with all the rights of U.S. citizens and the good guy Navy SEALs who capture them get to…GO TO JAIL?!!! A terrorist murdering thug gets a bloody lip (don’t you feel bad for him?) and the radical extremist leadership of our very own nation is prosecuting the soldiers who captured him!! “Instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers. Matthew McCabe, Jonathan Keefe, and Julio Huertas.” ConservativeAmerican.org, for one, thanks them for their service. These guys caught the man responsible for capturing, killing and burning the bodies of several Americans. He then hung the burned bodies from a bridge and got it on video for the whole world to see. A bloody lip seems mild.
