Obama Tax Cheat Scandal # 8 is his Health Nominee! - 3/31/9 AP: Health and Human Services nominee Kathleen Sebelius has corrected 3 years of tax returns & paid more than $7,000 in back taxes after finding “unintentional errors!” — she’s the 8th tax cheat Obama has nominated. She said the “errors” involved charitable contributions, the sale of a home and business expenses.
253. Team Obama Appointment Scandal # 37: Architect of disaster to help run Treasury! - 3/31/9 Dep. Treasury nominee Neal Wolin helped draft legislation to deregulate banks! Greg Sargent reports: “The law that Wolin helped draft has been blamed by some critics, many of them Democrats, for easing up regulatory pressure on huge financial institutions, tangentially helping create today’s mess.”
254. Obama Appointment Scandal # 38: Martin Feldstein - 3/31/9 Sean Hannity reports: Feldstein, appointed to a tax reform task force, has been an AIG board member for 21 years! Obama pal Feldstein is also a member of the president’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board. Obama received more money from AIG in the 2008 election cycle than any other sitting senator, raking in over $104,000.
255. Obama Gift Blunder # 2 - 4/1/9 Obama gives the Queen of England an iPod. She already had one. Obama’s had tapes of his own speeches on it. She’ll be bloody thrilled, I’m sure. While visiting, Michelle broke protocol and touched the Queen.
256. Obama’s Apology Tour # 3 - 4/1/9 - President Obama blames the USA for creating a global economic mess. Fox news: “If you look at the sources of this crisis, the United States certainly has some accounting to do with respect to a regulatory system that was inadequate.”- President Obama, at a press conference ahead of the G20 in London. Then on 4/2/9, he added: “It is true, as my Italian friend has said, that the (economic) crisis began in the U.S. I take responsibility, even if I wasn’t even president at the time.” - President Obama, at the G20 in London, as reported by Germany’s Der Spiegel.” The same day he said: “I would like to think that with my election and the early decisions that we’ve made, that you’re starting to see some restoration of America’s standing in the world.” - President Obama, at G20 summit in London

     Obama Appointment Scandal #39 - Harold Koh - 4/1/9 New York Post: Obama’s nominee to be the State Department’s top legal advisor, Koh believes “JUDGES should interpret the Constitution according to other nations’ legal “norms.” Sharia law could apply to disputes in US courts. The United States constitutes an “axis of disobedience” along with North Korea and Saddam-era Iraq.” Those are the views of the man on track to become one of the US government’s top lawyers: Harold Koh, until last week the dean of Yale Law School. UPDATE 6/29/9-Oliver North reports: “the U.S. Senate confirmed the appointment of Harold Koh, formerly the dean of Yale Law School, as the legal adviser for the State Department. The 62 to 35 vote means that Mr. Koh is now in a position to negotiate treaties, affect international law, and influence U.S. foreign policy. That’s not good news. Mr. Koh is a self-described “transnationalist” who “believes in and promotes the blending of international and domestic law.” According to Mr. Koh, “U.S. courts can and should use their interpretive powers to promote the development of a global legal system.” In short, he is a proponent of ensuring that citizens of the United States are in “bedience with international law.” Unfortunately the legal adviser’s appointment is just the tip of the iceberg in the Obama administration. Obama Boys Club Uncomfortable For Ellen Moran?- April, 2009 - Talking Points Memo, in reviewing the 2009 year and those who left the Obama administration, discusses Ellen Moran (the other 9 they feature already are on our list). Here’s what they say, “The first White House communications director Ellen Moran was one of the few members of the West Wing communications team who was not part of the campaign. She left three months into the administration, transferring to be (Gary) Locke’s chief of staff over at Commerce. She didn’t complain about Team Obama but there was some buzz that she didn’t fit in among the mostly male and tight-knit West Wing staff.”
259. Team Obama Cap & Trade Flip Flop - 4/1/9 - The White House says all money stolen by cap-&-trade taxes will be used to offset increased utility bills that will result from the stupid tax. However, Harry Reider accidentally disagreed with the Half-Black Prince saying the government should use the revenue for health care reform!
260. President Obama’s Scandalous Bow Down to Saudi Arabia - 4/1/9 -President Barack Obama bowed down to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia while at Buckingham Palace in London. This is the same Saudi King Obama pal Michael Moore-on said violated human rights and was “reluctant” to freeze 9/11 hijacker assets! They used to hate this guy, now they bow down to him?! 261. Team Obama Gun Lie - 4/2/9 -Sec. of State Hillary Clinton & assistant ATF director William Hoover both say 90% of weapons used for crimes in Mexico come from the USA. Fox says untrue: “In fact, it’s not even close. The fact is, only 17 percent of guns found at Mexican crime scenes have been traced to the U.S.” 90% of the guns they send back to be tested to see if they came from the US actually came from the US. Quite a different story than the one Team Obama is selling. UPDATE 4/17/9 Obama repeats the lie: “This war is being waged with guns purchased not here, but in the United States. More than 90 percent of the guns recovered in Mexico come from the United States, many from gun shops that line our shared border.”

Obama-approved cameras roll as the casket of staff Sgt. Phillip A. Myers returns to the States. We don’t need to gawk at a family’s personal pain to help Obama’s political gain. The pictures are sure to bring joy to the anti-war left.

Team Obama TARP insider # 1 - Lawrence Sommers - 4/6/9 The Politico reports: Top Obama economic adviser Sommers made $2.7-mill.+ “in speaking fees paid by firms at the heart of the financial crisis, including Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Merrill Lynch, Bank of America Corp. &…Lehman Brothers. He pulled in another $5.2 million last year from D.E. Shaw, a hedge fund for which he served as managing director.” Aren’t the evil Wall Street guys the ones Obama promised not to help?

Team Obama TARP insider # 2 - Thomas Donilon - 4/6/9 The Politico reports: Obama’s deputy national security adviser, Donilon, “was paid $3.9 million last year by the power law firm O’Melveny & Myers to represent clients, including two firms that received federal bailout funds: Citigroup and Goldman Sachs.” Obama loved TARP for all the money it sent to his pals!

Obama Appointment Scandal # 40 -Top Lawyer represented man accused of murdering US Soldier! - 4/6/9 The Politico reports: “Top White House Counsel Greg Craig last year earned $1.7 million in private practice representing an exiled Bolivian president, a Panamanian lawmaker wanted by the U.S. government for allegedly murdering a U.S. soldier and a tech billionaire accused of securities fraud and various sensational drug and sex crimes.” The Panamanian was Pedro Miguel Gonzalez Pinzon and the murder happened in 1992. Heck, for that kind of money he’ll represent Gitmo Guys too!

268. Team Obama Uses Olympic Bid to feed itself! - 4/6/9 Obama ’s White House social director Desiree Rogers donated more than $100,000 to “Chicago 2016,” the group trying to lure the 2016 Olympics. Politico says Valerie Jarrett, a senior Obama aide served as vice-chair of the committee. That committee then paid a PR firm owned by Obama political guru David Axelrod. Out of one Obama pocket and into another. Chicago 2016 Chair Pat Ryan was invited on the inauguration stage by Barack Obama.
269. Obama Wants to Control the Internet! - 4/6/9 Team Obama proposes the Office of National Cybersecurity Advisor, an arm of Obama’s executive branch, that would have vast power to monitor and control Internet traffic to “protect against threats to critical cyber infrastructure.” That is “rattling some civil libertarians,” says the Obama File. “The Cybersecurity Act of 2009 (.pdf) gives the president the ability to “declare a cybersecurity emergency” and shut down or limit Internet traffic in any “critical” information network “in the interest of national security.” The bill does not define a critical information network or a cybersecurity emergency. That definition would be left to Obama. The bill also grants the Secretary of Commerce “access to all relevant data concerning [critical] networks without regard to any provision of law, regulation, rule, or policy restricting such access.” This means he or she can monitor or access any data on private or public networks without regard to privacy laws. Drino Olympia Snowe is helping Obama (again) with the bill. Leslie Harris of the Center for Democracy and Technology; “Such a drastic federal intervention in private communications technology and networks could harm both security and privacy.”

271. Obama Appointment Scandal #41 - Dawn Johnsen - his nominee to head the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel once compared “pregnancy” with slavery. Stephen Clark at Fox News reports: When Johnsen was a lawyer for the National Abortion ‘Rights’ Action League, she cited a footnote that said forcing women to bear children was “disturbingly suggestive of involuntary servitude, prohibited by the 13th Amendment, in that forced pregnancy requires a woman to provide continuous physical service to the fetus in order to further the state’s asserted interest.” Wimpy republicans might (don’t hold your breath) actually try to fight this confirmation. Johnsen said she merely suggested “an analogy” (!!!) in the footnote and “never believed the 13th Amendment had any role” in the abortion issue! Solid bull from a solid liberbull. UPDATE 9/18/9: Johnsen is named to “The President’s Top 10″ by Sean Hannity! He points out that another person on the Obama Appointment Scandals List, Acorn fundraiser David Hamilton, is her brother-in-law! UPDATE: NEW INFORMATION 12/25/9: From Fox News, “President Obama’s controversial choice to head the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel is spending the holidays in limbo after Senate Republicans — in a last jab at Democrats for passing a massive health insurance bill — blocked her nomination and five others. If confirmed, Dawn Johnsen, a law professor at Indiana University, would be in charge of the office that formulates the attorney general’s formal opinions and provides counsel on the diciest legal questions, particularly the handling of Guantanamo Bay detainees and their impending move to the Thomson Correctional Center in Thomson, Ill…GOP lawmakers like Sen. John Cornyn of Texas,…called the coming acquisition of Thomson fulfillment of “misguided campaign pledges made to appease his left-wing base.” Cornyn was also a critic of Johnsen when she came up before the Senate Judiciary Committee for confirmation in March. While Bush would have been beat up for this, the MSM doesn’t report about Obama’s gaffes. “There’s a lotta…uhm…I don’t know what the term is in ‘Austrian,’…wheeling and dealing going on.” There is no language called Austrian. In Austria, most speak German.
274. Obama Possibly Stages Warm Military Welcome - 4/9/9 Some sites suggest the super warm welcome Obama received by troops during a surprise visit to Iraq was staged. The MacRanger Radio show: “According to a sergeant in Iraq : We were pre-screened, asked by officials “Who voted for Obama?”, and then those who raised their hands were shuffled to the front of the receiving line. They even handed out digital cameras and asked them to hold them up.”

Obama Appointment Scandal #42 - Kal Penn - 4/9/9 Entertainment Weekly: Obama picks a Hollywood actor, famous for playing Kumar in’Harold & Kumar go to White Castle,’ to be “associate director in the Office of Public Liaison.” Huh? Penn says “They do outreach with the American public and with different organizations. They’re basically the front door of the White House. They take out all of the red tape that falls between the general public and the White House.” No qualifications other than donating thousands to Obama ‘08. Just payback. That’s why Penn’s not on the TV’s “House” anymore. Kal’s real name is Kalpen Modi. UPDATE 10/31/9: Michelle Malkin’s Hot Air website links Kalpen to the NEA Scandal! Obama’s Latest Attack on Catholics (& Appointment Scandal #43) Harry Knox - 4/9/9 Catholics are already ticked off Obama has forced them to pay taxes to fund abortions in other countries & that he plans to speak at Catholic Notre Dame. Now, Obama spits on Catholics & appoints a Pope-Hating, Gay, Liberal to a committee on…faith! Knox, a director at the Rights for Gay Humans Campaign in D.C., blasted bishops for pushing to make same-sex marriage unconstitutional (Prop. 8 in CA), called the Knights of Columbus “foot soldiers of a discredited army of oppression,” and said bishops and Pope Benedict are “discredited leaders.” Fox Reports Catholic League President William Donahue knows Knox is not simply a critic; “He’s insulting. He used disdainful, disparaging terms to talk about the pope and the Catholic hierarchy. If someone were appointed using that language about homosexuals, he would be thrown out.” Amen to that. Amen. Obama’s Amazing Troop Funding Flip-Flop! - 4/9/9 Fox News: “Obama asked Congress for $83.4 billion for U.S. military and diplomatic operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, pressing for special troop funding that he opposed two years ago when he was senator and George W. Bush was president…Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, acknowledged Obama has been critical of Bush’s use of similar special legislation to pay for the wars. He said it was needed this time because the money will be required by summer, before Congress is likely to complete its normal appropriations process. “This will be the last supplemental for Iraq and Afghanistan. The process by which this has been funded over the course of the past many years, the president has discussed and will change,” Gibbs said.” Just not yet. Just like he’ll stop pork spending…just not yet. The man is a fraud. Now that he’s not just playing president on TV, the job suddenly looks different. No doubt the anti-war left will be in the streets tomorrow protesting…then again…
278. Obama Broken Promise on Iraq War # 3 - 4/9/9 Team Obama promised to get our troops out of Iraq. Now, the Times of London reports: Al Qaeda actions in 2 Iraq cities could keep combat troops engaged beyond the June 30th, 2009 deadline for their withdrawal. In fact, troop numbers in Mosul and Baqubah could rise rather than fall if necessary, General Ray Odierno told The Times in his first British interview since taking over from General David Petraeus. “Any delay would be a potential setback for President Obama, who has pledged to withdraw all combat forces from Iraq by August 2010 as he switches his focus to Afghanistan.” Strange. I remember the campaign promises about getting out of Iraq, but I don’t remember the campaign talk about stepping up the war in Afghanistan. Must just be my memory.

Vice President Lies about what he told Bush - 4/9/9 Fox News reports Joe Biden said “I remember President Bush saying to me one time in the Oval Office,’Well, Joe,’ he said, ‘I’m a leader.’ And I said: ‘Mr. President, turn and around look behind you. No one is following.’” Karl Rove says that’s not true. “It didn’t happen,” Rove, a FOX News contributor, said “I hate to say this, but he’s a serial exaggerator. If I was being unkind, I would say liar, but it is a habit he ought to drop.”

Kennedy is giving the Obama’s a dog named “Bo” on 4/14/9. UPDATE: 4/14/9 Even in getting the dog, AP reports Obama breaks a promise to rescue a dog from the pound!

Obama tries to give Pro-Abortionist to the Vatican (Appointment Scandal #44)! - 4/11/9 - The UK Telegraph:”Vatican sources (said) support for abortion disqualified (Caroline) Kennedy and other Roman Catholics President Barack Obama had been seeking to appoint. Obama was reportedly seeking to reward Kennedy, who publicly gave her support to his election bid. She had been poised to replace Hillary Clinton as New York senator, but dropped out amid criticism that she lacked enough experience for the job.” Another insult to Catholics from President Obama. It’s a habit for him.

President Finally Goes to Church! - 4/12/9 ABCDEmocrat News’ David Wright had even asked, “Will the Obamas attend an Easter Service this year?” Wright noted Obama “has not been to church since he took office — 11 Sundays! — despite telling ABC News he looked forward to getting to know the churches in the D.C. area.” Bowing to (no, not the Saudi King this time) pressure, the Obama family went to St. John’s Episcopal Church for Easter services.

Obama Appointment Scandal # 45 - Names controversial figure to Fatih Council - 4/12/9 Jewish Groups express concern over the “addition of Dalia Mogahed to the President’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Ms Mogahed has a history as an apologist for radical Islamists and the Muslim Brotherhood.” She also is known as Dina Mogahed. UPDATE 9/18/9: While Mogahed is not included on the Sean Hannity TV special, “The President’s Top Ten,” she is included in our “Obama’s Most Unwanted List,” posted prior to the TV show. UPDATE 10/11/9: Author Barry Rubin (”Lebanon: Liberation, Conflict & Crisis”) joins our efforts to make people aware of Dina, or Dalia, Mogahed. His report adds interesting details and further justifies her placement on the Obama’s Most Unwanted List. From Rubin, “Egyptian-born Dina Mogahed, a White House advisor on the President’s Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, appeared on (TV)…in Britain to praise Islamic Sharia law. She said the Western view of Sharia is “oversimplified” and, “The majority of women around the world associate gender justice, or justice for women, with Sharia compliance.”…Mogahed (later) contradicted her own statement. According to the Daily Telegraph, she: “Admitted that even many Muslims associated Sharia with `maximum criminal punishments’ and `laws that… to many people seem unequal to women,’ but added: `Part of the reason that there is this perception of Sharia is because Sharia is not well understood and Islam as a faith is not well understood.’” In other words, most Muslims also misunderstand Islam…she was appearing on a London-based TV program of the Hizb ut Tahrir party, a revolutionary group that is viciously antisemitic and seeks to overthrow every moderate regime in Muslim-majority countries in order to create a caliphate ruling under Sharia law. A Sharia law, I might add, that Mogahed either thinks they either do or don’t understand properly. If she thinks they misunderstand it, however, she certainly didn’t say so on the program. In a recent previous program, members of the (Hizub ut Tahrir) group attacked all existing Western law as merely “man-made,” condemned the Western system as a “lethal cocktail of liberty and capitalism,” and said women (presumably including Mogahed) should not be permitted to hold any important jobs in government. This is standard Islamist ideology, but why is a White House advisor validating it by her appearance, failing to contradict such ideas, and in some ways even agreeing with the same basic approach? Presumably, this is what nowadays passes for moderate Muslims. (Oh by the way, at almost the exact moment the show with Mogahed was being made, Hizb ut Tahrir was leading violent riots in east Jerusalem over a false claim that Jews were assaulting holy places on the Temple Mount.) During the broadcast, she described her White House role as “to convey… to the President and other public officials what it is Muslims want.” The problem here is that–based on her interview and statements elsewhere–she apparently thinks that most Muslims want Sharia law to apply at least over themselves in the United States. That’s pretty shocking. Clearly, the problem is that in defining “Muslims” she is not backing those few who are courageously advocating a moderate, reformed Islam but those who hold radical Islamist views. She might mean that most Muslims don’t correctly understand their own religion because, for example, they believe that any Muslim who wants to change religions should be killed. But Mogahed is certainly not campaigning against these interpretations. Under any previous criteria, Mogahed should resign right now. But she won’t and no one will ask her to do so.”

Fascist Obama Tells Local Cops to Watch out for Right Wing Extremists! - 4/13/9 Homeland Security says cops should watch for right wing extremism which the Washington Post says “may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.” Obama’s Homeland Security Chieftess Janet Napolitano sent a 9-page report to cops around the nation to warn them about conservative Americans! UPDATE 4/16/9 ABCDEmocrat News says the report was issued “despite civil liberties concerns…n the report, right-wing extremism was defined as hate-motivated groups and movements, such as hatred of certain religions, racial or ethnic groups. “It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration,” the report said. “If there’s one part of that report I would rewrite, in the word-smithing, Washington-ese that goes on after the fact, it would be that footnote,” Napolitano said Thursday on Fox News.”

Obama Family Scandal # 5 - 4/13/9 London Times: “The brother of President Obama has been refused a visa to re-enter Britain after being questioned by police over an accusation of attempted sexual assault and receiving a caution for a public order offence. Samson “Abo” Obama — one of the US President’s 11 half-brothers and sisters — is alleged to have been living illegally in Britain when he was arrested in Berkshire last November. A group of girls, one aged 13, told police a man approached them and followed them into a café a mile from the home of Samson Obama’s mother in Bracknell. Mr Obama, 41, was questioned by Thames Valley Police for several hours, during which his fingerprints and a DNA sample were taken. He is alleged to have told detectives that he was Henry Aloo, a genuine asylum-seeker, but gave the address of his own mother, Kezia. Mr Obama denied any sexual assault, but is reported to have accepted an official caution for a public order offence. A caution is an admission of a criminal offence. Police were reported to have also discovered that Mr Obama had been living illegally in Britain for seven years…Mr Ian Manners, stepbrother-in-law of President Obama, said “Abo is not married but is in a relationship with a woman. He is a bit of a playboy but would not get involved with 13-year-old girls. It is unthinkable.”

Obama Appointment Scandal #46 Wants Government to Bailout & Control Media! - 4/16/9 Fox quotes Pentagon Adviser Rosa Brooks: “Years of foolish policies have left us with a choice: We can bail out journalism, using tax dollars and granting licenses in ways that encourage robust and independent reporting and commentary, or we can watch, wringing our hands, as more and more top journalists are laid off.” How long do we have to think about it? Some of her so-called top liberal journalists laid off would likely be good for our nation! I can’t believe she, as a former journalist, is suggesting limiting free speech by requiring a license. Brent Bozell from Media Research Center: “Since when did our Founding Fathers envision that … you could exercise your right to freedom of speech provided you had a license from the federal government? This is the kind of stuff you have revolutions about.” UPDATE 9/18/9: Brooks is included on the Sean Hannity Top Ten TV special. He notes that in July, 2007 Brooks also wrote that Al Queda was just an obscure group before 9/11 and it was U.S. policies that turned them into a vast global threat!      Obama Hides from Jesus! - 4/16/9 White House asks Catholic University, Georgetown, to hide “a religious insignia symbolizing the name of Jesus” during President Obama’s speech! They wanted Flags instead. The request is way out of line for the White House to make. Even more scandalous than the request, is the fact that Georgetown agreed! Shame on them and their Catholic sponsors, the Jesuits. Fox Reports:”Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, accused the university of “cowardice” for acceding to the White House, and criticized Obama’s team for asking a religious school to “neuter itself” before the president made his address.”No bishop who might speak at the White House would ever request that a crucifix be displayed behind him,” he said.” - Georgetown President John J. DeGioia owes American Catholics an apology for agreeing to hide “IHS” from public in order to honor a President who did not attend Church for the first 11 weeks of his Presidency. Georgetown donors should let DeGioia know they disagree with this shameful decision. Where is Archbishop Donald Wuerl?
290. Team Obama Brings Teenage Pirate Terrorist to New York & Gives Him Rights of Citizen! - 4/16/9 The Pirates are coming to New York! And this time, it’s not a baseball game! As we jokingly predicted on 4/13/9, the Somali Pirate captured alive as part of the Maersk Alabama rescue is heading to the USA! Our political satire suggested: “As for the fate of the Somali freedom fighter captured alive, Attorney General Eric Holder says, “there are a variety of options that we have and among them is the possibility is that we would release him into this country.” Now it is coming true! We were making fun of the Obama Administration and Eric Holder because of what they said about releasing terrorists from Guantanamo Bay in the USA. That’s where the quote comes from. It was supposed to be a joke! It’s not a joke now though. President Obama actually is returning to the Clinton strategy of treating terrorists like regular criminal cases, trying them in court, and giving them all the same rights as a US Citizen. They are, of course, entitled to no such rights. UPDATE 4/21/9 - Teenage Pirate Terrorist is in NY now.

Obama Apology Tour # 6 -Blames USA for even more Mexican Problems!! - 4/17/9- Washington Times: President Obama…said the U.S. is to blame for much of Mexico’s drug violence…”I will not pretend that this is Mexico’s responsibility alone. The demand for these drugs in the United States is what’s helping keep these cartels in business.” This is his second “We are the bad guys” comment related to Mexico (see # 208). This is a pattern for Team Obama. On 3/25/9, Hillary Clinton also blamed the USA: “(She)admitted America’s demand for illegal narcotics and arms markets was partly to blame.”

We have been too easily distracted by other priorities, and have failed to see that our own progress is tied directly to progress throughout the Americas.” M in M notes: “With his penchant of attacking the United States of America on foreign soil now well established, it appears Barack Hussein Obama must now be auditioning for the slot as the Fourth Dixie Chick.” Now that is funny!

Obama’s Auto Czar is “Under Fire” (Appointment Scandal #47) - 4/17/9 ABCDEmocrat News: “Authorities are looking at an investment firm co-founded by (Steve Rattner) the head of President Barack Obama’s auto task force as part of an investigation into an alleged “pay to play” scheme to secure New York state pension business, but the White House is standing by its man…the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, each…reported that Rattner is referred to in the documents as a “senior executive” at Quadrangle…the complaint alleges that, in 2004, the “senior executive” at Quadrangle met with the chief investment officer at the pension fund to ask for investments, with Quadrangle then agreeing to pay what became a $1.1 million fee after receiving an investment from the fund.” White House spokesdude Robert Gibbs says “He (Rattner) is not accused of doing any wrongdoing and is not likely to face either criminal or civil charges as it relates to this.” This is the 38th Obama Appointee to be part of some type of scandal.

President Ignores Advice of 4 CIA Directors, Releasing CIA Interrogation Memos - 4/17/9 Associated Press: “Four former CIA directors opposed releasing classified Bush-era interrogation memos, officials say, describing objections that went all the way to the White House and slowed release of the records. Former CIA chiefs Michael Hayden, Porter Goss, George Tenet and John Deutch all called the White House in March warning that release of the so-called “torture memos” would compromise intelligence operations, current and former officials say…CIA Director Leon Panetta told Attorney General Eric Holder and…the White House the administration needed to discuss the possibility the memos’ release might expose CIA officers to lawsuits on allegations of torture and abuse. Panetta also pushed for more censorship of the memos.” Obama released them anyway, joining with the ACLU in an attempt to continue campaigning against George W. Bush for another four years. UPDATE 4/18/9 UN says Obama should prosecute our CIA agents for doing their jobs!

Obama Ignores Pledge to find “Common Ground” on Abortion Issue - 4/17/9 One News Now reports Dr. Frank Page, a member of President Obama’s Faith-Based Advisory Council, thinks “Obama has yet to show any signs that he plans to follow through on his pledge to find “common ground” on the issue of abortion.” Reporter Jim Brown notes: “And there are other things that Page says went relatively unnoticed. “A lot of people didn’t pick up on [the fact that] there was some large amount of money in one of the Omnibus bills that supported a United Nations agency which has been used in the past to support forced abortions in China,” he states. Page admits he is irritated that some of the evangelicals who voted for President Obama are now having “buyers’ remorse.” He says they should not be acting surprised when they see Obama simply fulfilling promises he made during the campaign.”UPDATE 5/17/9:Speaking at the Notre Dame Commencement, AP reports: Obama acknowledged that “no matter how much we want to fudge it … the fact is that at some level, the views of the two camps are irreconcilable.” Interesting. So where’s the “common ground?!”

Obama Appointment Scandal #48 Herbert Allison, Jr. - 4/18/9 - Robert McIntosh at The Patriot Room reports: “Herbert Allison Jr., Fannie Mae’s president and CEO, has been named to run the TARP program. Yes, Allison was an advisor for McCain during his presidential run and is supposedly bipartisan in his politics. None of that matters. Having the CEO of one of the biggest causes to the economic meltdown run the program that is supposed to help get us out of that meltdown is just rediculous.”

Obama Slip-up Pleases Nicaragua - 4/19/9 - Fox News: “President Obama misnumbered the nations attending the Summit of the Americas here, saying it was 36 when it’s actually 34. “When you are in a group of 36, it’s more difficult to focus just on the regional issues”…The slip-up would be easily overlooked except for the (fact)…Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega denounced the summit for excluding Communist Cuba and also said Puerto Rico, a commonwealth in the United States, should be independent.”

300. Obama’s “Outrageous Sin Against our Kids!” - 4/20/9 Liberal NPR Radio Host Juan Williams called it that! He writes: “But last week (Education) Secretary (Arne) Duncan announced that he will not allow any new students to enter the D.C. voucher program. In fact, he had to take back the government’s offer of scholarships to 200 students who had won a lottery to get into the program starting next year. His rationale is that if the program does not win new funding from Congress then those students might have to go back to public school in a year…With no living, breathing students profiting from the program to give it a face and stand and defend it the Congress has little political pressure to put new money into the program. The political pressure will be coming exclusively from the teacher’s unions who oppose the vouchers, just as they oppose No Child Left Behind and charter schools and every other effort at reforming public schools that continue to fail the nation’s most vulnerable young people, low income blacks and Hispanics. The National Education Association and other teachers’ unions have put millions into Democrats’ congressional campaigns because they oppose Republican efforts to challenge unions on their resistance to school reform and specifically their refusal to support ideas such as performance-based pay for teachers who raise students’ test scores…This reckless dismantling of the D.C. voucher program does not bode well for arguments to come about standards in the effort to reauthorize No Child Left Behind. It does not speak well of the promise of President Obama to be the “Education President,’ who once seemed primed to stand up for all children who want to learn and especially minority children. And its time for all of us to get outraged about this sin against our children.” Wow…this liberal commentator obviously IS outraged. (Scary that I just agreed with a liberal!) Obama’s kids go to private schools and two of the poor minority kids he is kicking out of school are classmates of his daughters. Obama Chicago Street Gang member Duncan said he didn’t want to live in D.C. because he didn’t want his kids to go to those public schools. - See earlier Voucher Scandal-and this related story!
