451. Obama Administration Just Makes Up Health Savings Numbers!- 6/22/9 – Oh, c’mon…what’s a few billion dollars between friends?! The White House claims $80-billion in savings from its socialist healthcare plan. The catch? They have no idea where any of it will come from! From Fox News: “Thee White House estimates $30 billion in savings will be achieved through drug companies reducing by at least 50 percent the cost of brand-name prescription drugs for Medicare beneficiaries who fall into the so-called coverage “donut hole.” The other $50 billion in savings will come from unspecified and unknown changes to drug costs linked to Medicare and Medicaid.” – Say what? Unspecified? Unknown? How do you spell bullsh**? This $80 Bill is just a stupid guesstimate spread out over 10 years that they just pulled out of thin air!! Fox: “White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said…details on…savings remain to be negotiated…“They’re still continuing to work through some of the details on that,” Gibbs said. “Some portion of this is going to go to the pharmaceutical interest — industry, making good on the savings proposals that the president has outlined to make health care more efficient, which will impact the amount that the government pays.” – Yeah, yeah, bla, bla, bla. Do these guys even listen to the absolute rubbish coming out of their mouths?
452. President Obama Changes his Tune AGAIN on Unemployment Numbers!- 6/22/9 – After selling the Obama Deficit Stimulus Bill as a way to keep unemployment BELOW 8%, Presdient Barack Hugo Obama now says unemployment will hit 10% this year! ABCDEmocrat News reports Obama told Al Hunt at Bloomberg News: ““I think that what you’ve seen is that the pace of job loss has slowed,” Mr. Obama says, “and I think that the economy is going to turn around. But as you know, jobs are a lagging indicator. And we’ve got to produce 150,000 jobs every month just to keep pace.”But, he said, “we will end up seeing recovery shortly.” – Okay. We’ll actually count on those words this time. And can we assume you won’t change your mind again in a few weeks?
453. Obama’s Broken Promise that No Stimulus Funds would go to Wasteful Projects!- 6/22/9 The RNC reports: “If a federal agency proposes a project that will waste that money, I will not hesitate to call them out on it and put a stop to it,‘ the president said Feb. 20 when he signed the bill into law. And I want everybody here to be on notice that if a local government does the same, I will call them out on it and use the full power of my office and our administration to stop it.” (Stephen Dinan, Obama Finds No Stimulus Waste, The Washington Times, 6/22/09) REALITY: Stimulus Funds Spent On Welfare For Deceased, Turtle Crossings. “A report due to be released today by a Republican senator contends the Obama administration‘s stimulus program is fraught with waste and incompetence — evidenced by a turtle crossing in northern Florida that will cost more than $3 million and a snafu in which thousands of Social Security checks went out to people who had died … One town in North Carolina is using stimulus funds to hire an administrator whose job will be to procure more stimulus funds, according to the report. Obama Terrorist Scandal # 7 – Talk with the Tollah!- 6/24/9 – The Washington Times says President Obama wrote a nice little letter to the Ayatollah in Iran prior to the Iranian election asking for a chat and hoping to improve relations between the United States and this terrorist nation! He wants to Talk with the Tollah! Obama said the Iranian people could speak for themselves and the rest of the world, under his President-of-the-World leadership, will just “Watch”…”I’ve made it clear that the United States respects the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran and is not interfering with Iran’s affairs. But we must also bear witness to the courage and the dignity of the Iranian people.” Bear witness? Just sit and watch? Watch while you sit down for Tea with the Tollah!
455. Rahm F-Bomb Emanuel & the Obama Street Gang!- 6/24/9 – Obama Chicago Street Gang member Rahm Emanuel is calling congress to let them know they better F’n pass the socialist healthcare plan that no one wants. While recent polls show 77% of Americans like their health coverage and don’t think anything is broken, Team Obama pushes forward with its socialist agenda to have government control your life. And, they do it with foul mouths. Fox News quotes Paul Begala from the Washington Post: “A conversation with Rahm Emanuel can be as little as 30 seconds. 456. Obama Flip Flops on mandatory health care coverage and fining those who don’t sign up! - 6/24/9 Rush Limbaugh notes: “And surprise, surprise. His thinking on mandates is now evolved. Remember he blasted Hillary for having mandates during the campaign but his promise of having no mandates has expired. Diane Sawyer said, “Will you accept mandates with fines for individuals if they don’t sign up? You were against that during the campaign.” OBAMA: “I have to tell you that this is an area where people have made some pretty compelling arguments to me, that if we want to have a system that drives down costs for everybody, then we’ve gotta have healthier people not opt out of the system. I think my thinking on the issue of mandates has evolved.” So it’s called “evolution” when socialist-democrats flip flop? UPDATE 9/9/9: Obama now tells congress his plan will require that people buy insurance. He also wants people fined for violating his plan. BTW, he still doesn’t have an actual plan!
457. White House Implies community service is necessary to be a “Real Citizen”- 6/26/9 – We’re all for community service and agree that it is good for all involved. Did a White House blog word things poorly though when it said community service is necessary to be ‘real citizen?’ They wrote: “United We Serve, our summer service initiative…We want to ask every American to take some time out this summer to do something for others. Parents, take your kids…Once a week, take them down — whether it’s to a soup kitchen or to volunteer on a community project — teach them what it means to be a real citizen.” Reader Brian W. caught this poor wording.
458. Obama Open to ANOTHER STIMULUS!- 6/28/9 Reuters and NBC quote Obama Chicago Street Gang Member David Axelrod: “Let’s see in the fall where we are, but right now we believe what we have done is adequate to the task. If more is needed, we’ll have that discussion.”

Obama Economic Adviser Flip Flops on how Quickly Stimulus Results will Come!- 6/28/9 – Christina Romer, Chair of Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers Said “We Always Knew” Results From Stimulus Would Not Be Seen Right Away. “We always knew we were not going to get all that much fiscal impact during the first five to six months. The big impact starts to hit from about now onwards,” she said (Krishna Guha, Romer Upbeat On US Economy, Financial Times, 6/28/09) REALITY: Obama Pledged Back In January That Stimulus Money Would Go Out The Door Immediately To Create Jobs. “And that is why I hope to sign an American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan into law in the next few weeks. 460. Obama Adviser Claims Iran has Nukes!- 6/28/9 Team Obama Senior Street Gang Member David Axelrod of Chicago claimed on ABCDEemocrat News that Iran already has nuclear weapons! No country has claimed Iran actually has the weapons now. World Net Daily has the quote from Axelrod: “We are also mindful of the fact that the nuclear weapons in Iran and the nuclearization of that whole region is a threat to that country, all countries in the region, and the world. And we have to address that. We can’t let that lie.”
461. Socialist Climate Hoax Czar has not read Climate Bill!- 6/29/9 – Socialist Carol Browner admits to “Fox & Friends” that she has not read the Climate Hoax Cap & Trade Tax Bill that narrowly passed the U.S. House on the 26th. “I’ve read major portions of it,” she said.
462. Socialist Climate Hoax Czar says “EVERYONE” will get rebate!- 6/29/9 Carol Browner also claimed on the Fox & Friends show that “every consumer of electricity will get a rebate” to cover increased electrical costs the bill will cause. Yeah, right. Rush Limbaugh noted on Friday: “They know that the bill is going to cream you! Listen to this. Section 432, Energy Refund Program For Low Income Consumers: “(1) The Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, or the agency designated by the Administrator shall formulate and administer the ‘Energy Refund Program’. (2) At the request of the State agency, eligible low-income households within the State shall receive a monthly cash energy refund equal to the estimated loss in purchasing power resulting from this Act.” Now, this is just for the poor. Pay attention. This is a part where the poor get direct deposit transfers of your money. They know your “purchasing power” will be lost resulting from this act! I’m reading from the act.” This Climate Hoax Tax Bill is the so-called “Waxman-Markey” bill.
463. Hypocrite In Chief: Meddling in Iran is bad, Meddling in Honduras is good!- 6/29/9 After the socialist leader of Honduras is tossed out on his rear end, America’s first Socialist President, Barack Hugo Obama immediately meddles in the affairs of another nation by sending Hillary Clinton out to say this defrocked socialist must be put back into power!
464. Supreme Court says No To Sotomayor Decision!- 6/29/9 The U.S. Supreme Court today overturned an appeals court decision made by President Obama’s Racist Supreme Court Nominee, Sonia Sotomayor. Fox News reports the U.S. Supreme Court “ruled Monday that a group of white firefighters in Connecticut were unfairly denied promotions because of their race, ” a decision endorsed by a racist federal judge, Sonia Sotomayor. – From Fox: “The 5-4 ruling poses a potential complication to Sotomayor’s nomination, with confirmation hearings set to start in July. Already, supporters and critics of Sotomayor are seizing on the decision in an effort to defend their stance. In the high-profile, controversial case, white firefighters in New Haven, Conn., argued they were discriminated against when the city tossed out the results of a promotion exam because too few minorities scored high enough on it. Justice Anthony Kennedy authored the opinion in favor of Frank Ricci and his fellow firefighters who sued the city of New Haven. “The city’s action in discarding the tests violated (federal law),” the Supreme Court majority wrote Monday, adding that the city’s “race-based rejection of the test results” could not be justified. ” – See Scandal # 4 to Listen to President Obama’s own Racist rant against whites. UPDATE 7/1/9 Fox News: “A Puerto Rican legal advocacy organization that Sotomayor used to belong to helped a group of Hispanic police officers in the 1980s challenge the promotion exams for New York police officers, arguing they were discriminatory.”
465. Obama Planning to Break Promise on No Higher Taxes for People Making Less than $250,000 a year!- 6/29/9 The White House Press crew got out of hand this week and acted like they didn’t work for the Obama 2012 campaign. They asked Robert Gibbs actual questions and he tells them he will NOT reaffirm the President’s pledge not to raise taxes on those making less than $250,000 a year, leaving the door open for such taxes to be included in the socialist healthcare reform plan Team Obama wants passed. Watch Gibbs squirm for yourself…
     
466. Obama Appointment Scandal # 55 – Mignon L. Clyburn- 6/30/9 The Los Angeles Times reports: “Last week, tucked inside a short announcement of White House nominations being sent to the Senate for confirmation was a little-noticed line: “Mignon L. Clyburn, of South Carolina, to be a Member of the Federal Communications Commission for a term of five years.”
     Clyburn is the eldest daughter of” South Carolina Rep. James E. Clyburn. Clyburn was expected “to stay neutral in the long, bitter Democratic presidential primary struggle between Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama. An influential endorsement from Clyburn, a civil rights hero and top member of the House Democratic leadership, would have been welcomed by former President Clinton, who worked closely with him in the 1990s and thought they were close friends. But the down-South campaigning got a little rough and, as The Ticket noted here, Clyburn didn’t help his old ally. In fact, he started to quietly tilt toward Obama, whom he eventually endorsed after the primary. And Clyburn and the ex-president are not talking much anymore.
467. Team Obama Tries to Hide the Truth on Global Warming (It’s a Hoax!)- 6/30/9 Fox reports republican Sen. James Inhofe “has ordered an investigation into the Environmental Protection Agency’s alleged suppression of a report that questioned the science behind global warming…The 98-page report, co-authored by EPA analyst Alan Carlin, pushed back on the prospect of regulating gases like carbon dioxide as a way to reduce global warming. Carlin’s report argued that the information the EPA was using was out of date, and that even as atmospheric carbon dioxide levels have increased, global temperatures have declined. “He came out with the truth. They don’t want the truth at the EPA,” (said Inhofe)…Reps. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., and Darrell Issa, R-Calif., also wrote a letter last week to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson urging the agency to reopen its comment period on the finding. The EPA has since denied the request.”

James Jones said.” UPDATE 10/11/9: Fox News reports on what Obama told a gay civil rights advocacy group, “President Barack Obama reaffirmed his campaign pledge to end the ban on homosexuals serving openly in the military in a speech Saturday, but offered no timetable or specifics for acting on that longstanding promise.” — Still not the Gay Champion he promised to be!

Obama’s Gift to the Bush Haters: Releases “Torture” Details!- 7/1/9 President Barack Hugo Obama today releases portions of detailed information on CIA interrogation techniques he claims are “torture.” He can use the word “torture” despite being unable to say the word “terrorism.” He’s only releasing information that makes George W. Bush look bad, of course. He won’t release details on how the methods worked, kept us safer, and prevented attacks that would have cost thousands more lives! The foolish move goes against the advice of 4 CIA directors.

She reportedly had to push him on the subject for two days before he would give half-an-inch. She knows he can’t handle the 3:00 A.M. phone calls coming in. From The Washington Times & Fox News: “Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton urged President Obama for two days to toughen his language on Iran before he did so, and then was surprised when he condemned Iran’s crackdown on demonstrators last week, the Washington Times reported administration officials as saying.” – She was surprised? Apparently they’re not on speaking terms?!
471. Obama’s Wal-Mart Flip Flop!- 7/1/9 Before election, Wal-Mart Bad. After election, Wal-Mart Good!!! President Barack Hugo Obama has gone from joining with democrat unions to bash Wal-mart for not hiring union workers to loving Wal-mart for supporting his idea to mandate health insurance coverage by large employers. Wal-Mart used to be the bad guy and Obama’s campaign was critical of Hillary Clinton for her ties to the Wal-Mart Board. What he didn’t tell you then is that he and his wife made a lot of money from the Treehouse Foods Co., which does big-time sales with Wal-Mart. In at least two years he and Michelle pocketed more than $100,000 in money made from Treehouse sales at Wal-Mart! He makes big money from this liberal hated ‘evil’ corporation! Wal-Mart CEO Mike Duke announced 6/30/9 that his company supports the Obama health insurance mandate, part of Obama’s socialist nationalization of healthcare. So, Wal-Mart is good now with the democrats…yet another blatant hypocrisy from the Hypocrite-in-Chief!

Obama’s Broken Promise on Helping the Hardest Hit Areas of the Nation- 7/1/9 The RNC reports: “[The stimulus] includes help for those hardest hit by our economic crisis … As a whole, this plan will help poor and working Americans pull themselves into the middle class in a way we haven‘t seen in nearly 50 years.” (President Barack Obama, Remarks At The Signing Of The American Recovery And Reinvestment Act, Denver, CO, 2/17/09) REALITY: States With Low Unemployment Receiving More Stimulus Funds Per Capita Than States With High Unemployment. “Nevada, where unemployment stood at about 10% when the plan was passed, is getting $541 for each resident from the stimulus money allocated so far, a Wall Street Journal analysis found. Wyoming, where the 3.9% jobless rate was the lowest in the country in February, is getting $1,074 per person.” (Louise Radnofsky, Some Hard-Hit States Get Less Stimulus, The Wall Street Journal, 7/1/09)

Obama won’t visit Kenya but will talk with Iran’s Nut Job Leader??!!- 7/3/9 Fox News: “President Obama says his first trip to Sub-Saharan Africa won’t include a stop in his father’s Kenyan homeland because of his view that the violence-plagued country still has a long way to go in becoming a free and open democracy.”

Kristen Gillibrand and New York Rep. Charles Rangel rebuked President Obama for meddling into the primary as he defended Rep. Carolyn Maloney’s right to run…”I really don’t understand why President Obama got involved in our primary,” Rangel told the New York Daily News. “I don’t want to use the word wrong, but it doesn’t seem like the astute political thing to do.”

Debby Smith is a member of Organizing for America, a network of volunteers whose mission is to rouse public support for Obama and his political and social agendas; it is also a project of the Democratic National Committee. Smith was invited to the event not by an outside group but by the White House itself.No wonder Obama hugged her.”

The Forbes Five Obama Health Care Lies – #1 No one will be compelled to buy coverage- 7/5/9 – Shikha Dalmia has a great story at Forbes magazine about Obama’s top five health care lies! #1 on her list is that Obama won’t make anyone buy coverage. From Forbes: “Obama insisted that he would not resort to an individual mandate to achieve universal coverage. In fact, he repeatedly ripped Hillary Clinton’s plan for proposing one. “To force people to buy coverage,” he insisted, “you’ve got to have a very harsh penalty.” What will this penalty be, he demanded? “Are you going to garnish their wages?” he asked Hillary in one debate. Yet now, Obama is behaving as if he said never a hostile word about the mandate. Earlier this month, in a letter to Sens. Max Baucus, D-Mont., and Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., he blithely declared that he was all for “making every American responsible for having health insurance coverage, and making employers share in the cost.” But just like Hillary, he is refusing to say precisely what he will do to those who want to forgo insurance. There is a name for such a health care approach: It is called TonySopranoCare.” UPDATE 9/9/9: Obama tells congress EVERYONE will be compelled to buy coverage! So much for him insisting that he wouldn’t “resort to” an individual mandate!

The Forbes Five Obama Health Care Lies – #2 No New Taxes on Employer Benefits- 7/5/9 – Shikha Dalmia’s second Obama lie: “”For the first time in history, he wants to tax your health benefits,” he thundered. “Apparently, Sen. McCain doesn’t think it’s enough that your health premiums have doubled. He thinks you should have to pay taxes on them too.” Yet now Obama is signaling his willingness to go along with a far worse scheme to tax employer-sponsored benefits to fund the $1.6 trillion or so it will cost to provide universal coverage. Contrary to Obama’s allegations, McCain’s plan did not ultimately entail a net tax increase because he intended to return to individuals whatever money was raised by scrapping the tax deduction. Not so with Obama.”
479. The Forbes Five Obama Health Care Lies – #3 Government can Control Rising Healthcare Costs Better than the Private Sector!!!- 7/5/9 – Shikha Dalmia’s

     Obama Lie # 3: “Ignoring the reality that Medicare–the government-funded program for the elderly–has put the country on the path to fiscal ruin, Obama wants to model a government insurance plan–the so-called “public option”–after Medicare in order to control the country’s rising health care costs. Why? Because, he repeatedly claims, Medicare has far lower administrative costs and overhead than private plans–to wit, 3% for Medicare compared to 10% to 20% for private plans. Hence, he says, subjecting private plans to competition against an entity delivering such superior efficiency will release health care dollars for universal coverage. But lower administrative costs do not necessarily mean greater efficiency. Indeed, the Congressional Budget Office analysis last year chastised Medicare’s lax attitude on this front. “The traditional fee-for-service Medicare program does relatively little to manage benefits, which tends to reduce its administrative costs but may raise its overall spending relative to a more tightly managed approach,” it noted on page 93. In short, extending the Medicare model will further ruin–not improve–even the functioning aspects of private plans. ” UPDATE 9/9/9: Obama lies to congress claiming he will have billions in Medicare savings without cuts! “I will protect Medicare,” he promised. He says he’ll make it more efficient and get rid of waste. Billions of it. Without cutting any service to you. Maybe the “H” in Barack H. Obama is for “Houdini.”

480. The Forbes Five Obama Health Care Lies – #4 The Public Plan is not a Trojan Horse for a Single-Payer Monopoly- 7/5/9 – Shikha Dalmia has done a great jobexplaining these big healthcare lies. “Obama has repeatedly claimed that forcing private plans to compete with a public plan will simply “keep them honest” and give patients more options–not lead to a full-blown, Canadian-style, single-payer monopoly. As I argued in my previous column, this is wishful thinking given that government programs such as Medicare have a history of controlling costs by underpaying providers, who make up the losses by charging private plans more. Any public plan modeled after Medicare will greatly increase this forced subsidy, eventually driving private plans out of business, even if that weren’t Obama’s intention. But, as it turns out, it very much is his intention. Before he decided to run for office–and even during the initial days of his campaign–Obama repeatedly said that he was in favor of a single-payer system. What’s more, University of California, Berkeley Professor Jacob Hacker, who is a key influence on the Obama administration, is on tape explicitly boasting that a public plan is a means for creating a single-payer system. “It’s not a Trojan horse,” he quips, “it’s just right there.”

The Forbes Five Obama Health Care Lies – #5 Patients Don’t Have to Fear Rationing!!- 7/5/9 – Shikha Dalmia sums it up with this one. “Obama has been insisting, including during his ABC Town Hall event last week, that the rationing patients would face under a government-run system wouldn’t be any more draconian than what they currently confront under private plans. This is complete nonsense. The left has been trying to address fears of rationing by trotting out an old and tired trope, namely, that rationing is an inescapable fact of life because every system rations whether by price or fiat. But there is a big difference between the two. If I can’t afford caviar and champagne every night, any rationing involved is metaphoric, not real. Genuine rationing occurs when someone else controls access–how much of a particular good I can consume. By that token, Obama’s stimulus bill has set in motion rationing on a scale unimaginable in the land of the free. IG Gate #2 – Questionable Circumstances around IG Fred Weiderhold, Jr.’s Departure 7/8/9 Fox News: “(Weiderhold) announced his retirement in June as inspector general at Amtrak, about the same time he handed Congress a 94-page report claiming that Amtrak lawyers had frequently tried to stymie his investigations by redacting and withholding documents and preventing interviews with Amtrak employees. Amtrak officials say Weiderhold’s retirement arrangements came before, not after his damning report. Nonetheless, the top Democratic and Republican members of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee are investigating.” This after Team Obama fires Gerald Walpin (see Scandal dated 6/12/9) for his report blasting one of Barack Obama’s Buddies.
487. IG Gate #3 – Obama Fires IG Judith Gwynne! 7/8/9 Fox News: “(Gwynne) was acting IG at the International Trade Commission, and was fired this month, coincidentally after Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, known as the patron saint of IGs, wrote her boss, ITC Chairwoman Shara Aranoff, a Bush appointee, about potential agency obstruction in Gwynne’s investigation into contractor activities. Gwynne had accused commission officials of forcibly removing from her hands procurement files essential to her investigation. An ITC spokeswoman told FOXNews.com that the commission has responded formally to Grassley, but will not comment further on Gwynne, a career employee who was appointed by agency officials in 2008.” It’s the latest LACK OF TRANSPARENCY move by Team Obama as he tries to silence all who disagree with him. This isn’t supposed to happen in the United States of America!
488. IG Gate #4 – Obama Treasury Department Lawyers tell an IG they are his boss! 7/8/9 Fox News: “Neil M. Barofsky, the inspector general in charge of overseeing the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program recently expressed concern when Treasury Department officials informed him the department had legal authority over his office. Barofsky said such an arrangement could threaten his independence and ability to access documents relating to the bailout of the financial sector. The matter is currently being sorted out by the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel. According to news reports in mid-June, the Treasury’s assertion of its authority over Barofsky’s office came just as he was opening an investigation into the Treasury’s decision to approve bonuses for executives at the insurance giant AIG, which received billions in bailout money from the TARP fund.

AP Exclusive: Holder may prosecute Bush Team over so-called “Torture” methods 7/12/9 After saying on 4/17/9 (and repeating later) that those who were doing their duties kept us safer and will not be prosecuted, Obama later said it was up to Attorney Generalista Eric Holder. Obama also said he was not in favor of prosecuting team Bush because it could get “politicized” and then flipped to say it was okay if it was bipartisan. Today, Nedra Pickler at the AP reports “Holder is considering whether to appoint a prosecutor and will make a final decision within the next few weeks.” – Team Obama continues to play both sides of the issue as it has all along. Robert Brothers Gibbs and Rahm Emanuel have both said Obama does not favor prosecuting Team Bush, while behind the scenes giving the order to Holder to go for blood. This money has helped many state governments to partially offset budget shortfalls. UPDATE 9/7/9 Gateway Pundit reports: “President Obama will announce that he’s appointing Ron Bloom his Senior Counselor for Manufacturing Policy, White House sources tell ABC News. Bloom is currently Senior Advisor to Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner as a member of the President’s Task Force on the Automotive Industry, named to that position in February. He will remain in that position even while he takes on his new task. UPDATE 10/21/9: Glenn Beck reports Anita Dunn isn’t the only Chairman Mao lover working for Obama! Ron Bloom does too. 499. Obama’s Supreme Court Nominee Flip-Flops! 7/14/9 Racist Judge Sonia Sotomayor claims she’s not a racist after all! AP Reports: “”I want to state upfront, unequivocally and without doubt: I do not believe that any racial, ethnic or gender group has an advantage in sound judging. I do believe that every person has an equal opportunity to be a good and wise judge, regardless of their background or life experiences,” Sotomayor declared.” – Quite the contrast from her earlier remarks she made several times indicating, “”I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life,” Sotomayor said” – Republican Jeff Sessions of Alabama is standing firm though. AP: “”We remain focused on some fundamental questions about the philosophy of Judge Sotomayor as expressed in her statement on more than one occasion over a period of 15 years. And they’ve expressed a rather serious critique of the classical ideal of blind justice.”

500. Obama’s Intelligent Supreme Court Pick says Shooting someone “May not be legal!!!” 7/15/9 – Racist Supreme Court Nominee Sonia Sotomayor actually said that. From the Associated Democrat Press: “At another point, Coburn asked whether the Second Amendment to the Constitution confers a right to personal self-defense.Under New York law, she said, it is permissible to use force to repel the threat of imminent death or very serious injury. Yet, she said, “If I go home, get a gun, come back and shoot you, that may not be legal under New York law because you could have alternative ways to defend. …” With laughter filling the room, Coburn interjected, “You’ll have lots of ’splainin’ to do.’” Sotomayor joined in the laughter, saying, “I’d be in a lot of trouble then.” – Yeah, unless you got yourself as judge. Then, as a wise Latina woman who understands the plights of minorities who go to expensive private Catholic schools, you would no doubt find yourself not guilty. They laugh at her stupid example and her stupid conclusion that shooting someone “may not be legal,” but they will still vote to make her one of the most powerful people in the nation. Disgusting. UPDATE 7/17/9: Firefighters don’t like Sotomayor much either.
