There he was. Behind that stupid, made-up sign for the ficticious “Office of the President Elect.” I’m surprised his ego didn’t place him in front of the sign. President Elect Barack Obama today presented more details on his Deficit Stimulus Plan.

He said, “Only government” can supply the short-term boost he thinks is needed to pull the country out of a recession. Only government? When government has tried to fix things for us in the past, how has that gone? He is using scare tactics to quickly pass the largest increase in the size of the federal government ever. With one quick signature, he will double the size of the federal budget deficit.

What happened to the days when our president told us, “Government is not the solution to the problem, government IS the problem.” Now we are told only government can come up with the solution. All those brilliant minds up there in Washington, D.C. that gave us the first bailout bonanza. Those are the ONLY ones who can save us. Uh huh.

He says his plan is $800-Billion. It will top $1-Trillion before it is passed as congressmen, senators and states add up their wish lists and make sure each item is included. Make no mistake, the nation is being duped big time. He is playing us all for fools. One president said once that we had nothing to fear but fear itself. Obama says we have so much to fear, that fear itself will allow him to give Billions and Billions of dollars to the Al-Gore-Save-The-Planet from Global-Warming crowd. Part of the ocean, a sea near England, was frozen today!

What does spending billions on energy sources that have yet to prove financially viable do to help the economy? It sounds an awful lot like what happened to the banking and mortgage industries that got us into this mess in the first place! The Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton governments forced private banks and mortgage firms to give out loans to people who did not qualify for them (they spent money on something that was not financially viable) in the name of helping us all. Now Mr. Obama wants to “help us all” again by saving the planet from a non-existent threat? That’s his plan for fixing the economy? You have got to be kidding.

Knowing that good leaders inspire people and help them to see that the best days lie in front of us, Obama delivered a doom-and-gloom approach today. For now, he needs Wall Street to decline. He needs things to get worse in the economy. He needs you to be more frightened about the future. If he gets those things, he figures he and his pals Nancy Pelosi, Dick Durbin and Harry Reid can easily pass $1-Trillion in new pork, pet-projects like saving the world from it getting warmer, …er, uh…colder….or… something.

Oh but the waste is okay, we have his pledge today not to throw money at the country’s problems (huh? That’s EXACTLY what he is doing!!) or spend it on wasteful projects (like GLOBAL WARMING!).

Obama is failing already at leadership by working hard to convince us things can only get worse. He even said (no I am not making this up) that things could get so bad that we might not ever recover. What the hell kind of talk is that? That’s not leadership, it’s scare-er-ship. But that is how the democrat socialists like Obama play. They scare people so they can pass their liberal socialist agenda. As Rush Limbaugh likes to say, “Elections Matter” and we blew this one folks.

He promised more fake tax cut nonsense to, saying he will give a $1,000 tax cut to 95% of working families. How can he do that when 95% of working families do not pay federal income taxes? We’re in for a very long four years.

I for one, however, think our best days are ahead of us. This is the United States of America. None of us knows if we will go into a depression or not. I don’t claim to know that. I do know that, one way or another, we will work together to get through this. Businesses will find new opportunities, new creative profit-making ventures. They’ll hire more employees. Employees like us will work hard to deliver good services and products. Sales will increase and the economy will recover.

The “only” way that government can be the “only” way we get out of this mess is if government gets out of the mess and leaves us all alone. Or, we could do it Obama’s way…
