McCain Wins 2nd relatively Boring Debate

John McCain

John McCain

John McCain did a better job in tonight’s debate than the first one. Still no memorable one-liners or “gotcha” moments, but he was much tougher on Obama’s (lack of a) record and positions. He did a good job of pointing out Obama’s hypocrisy and weaknesses. He was tough on him, which he needed to be.

Obama was his same, Mr. Smooth, fake self. The public seems to like that. Something they don’t have to think about, just something to believe in…some change to believe in. They like that line.

McCain needed to bring up Ayers, Jeremiah and Rezko. It doesn’t matter that the question did not come up, he could have brought it up as a way of showing the Obaminator’s extreme poor judgement.

Tom Brokaw did his best to have blacks ask McCain questions and to trap McCain with gotcha questions on cutting social security. Odd how Obama didn’t even have to answer that question. McCain goofed on that question. It sounded like he said he would cut social security benefits. The dems will use that in an advertisement starting tomorrow to scare older people.

Sarah Palin has to keep up the attack too. There is still time for McCain to win, but time is getting short.
