Get over your Skin Color Already

By Peter Andrew – ConservativeAmerican.org – Leading the way Right.

I was born in 1964 and racial tension was growing. By 1967, our family moved to avoid race riots in Michigan. I was three years old. I don’t remember it. That makes me 50 years old. It also means that anyone under 40, which includes almost everyone protesting in Ferguson, has not lived during a time when things were as awful for people of color as they were prior to 1969.

Things aren’t perfect, but they are much, much better. I realize things get better slowly, over time. However, they have improved substantially. People who liked things the way they were, may hold onto those feelings for as long as they live. The racism they were taught may not die until they do. For people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, they view their very existence as being based on what they see as a “fact” that white people treat black people terribly, that black people can’t win, the deck is permanently stacked against them. Those with feelings like that also may hold onto those beliefs for the rest of their lives.

Those holding on to the past, white or black, are failing to see the present or dream of the future.

By the same token, any cop under 40 did not live during any period that compares to the 1960’s and earlier when it comes to how black people were treated. So why the hell does everything have to be about skin color?!

White people joined with blacks to elect Barack Hussein Obama as President. The whites did this mainly because they were taught by liberal, union school teachers who indoctrinated them with white guilt that wasn’t theirs. Whites were taught, directly and indirectly, that they are bad for what they did to blacks. At the same time, blacks are taught by the same liberal, union school teachers that they don’t have the same opportunity as white people do in this terrible racist society.

So, generations of people who have never known the situations they were taught about in history, are brainwashed into living as if all of this was still going on. Young black men are convinced they have no future, can’t learn, won’t live long, can get anyone pregnant outside of marriage and just let someone else take care of their kids, they see no possible bright future. It is not right.

White cops shoot black people sometimes. It does not mean that it automatically has anything to do with race.

I am not denying that there are racists in our world. There are. Some of them are cops. Some of them are thugs and gang members. Some of them are bloggers. Some of them are teachers and preachers and anything else you can come up with. However, there are fewer and fewer of them as time goes on and none of us, black or white, should tolerate their nonsense. Yes, Jesse Jackson, blacks can be racists. Some blacks hate white people. Period. Whites can be racists. Some hate black people. Period.

OMG! Can we just get over what a person’s freaking skin color is? Who cares? What religion they are or aren’t? Who cares? What sexual orientation they have? Who Cares?!

People are just that, people. And in the United States of America, they are Americans.

The situation in Ferguson boils down to thugs using the possibility that race may have played a role in a police shooting as an excuse to behave violently, steal things, hurt others, and further a black-power (racist) political agenda.

We all need to get over our skin color.
