GOP Tosses Conservatives under the Bus (Again)

The U.S. House approved the compromise budget plan today.  The senate will follow and the President will sign.  It increases spending, eliminates some of the supposed cuts made in the “sequester,” and funds Obamacare.  The one thing the majority of people in the nation would like to see defunded, is Obamacare.  But the newly centrist Paul Ryan and the tired-of-conservatives John Boehner wanted this to pass and it did.

Boehner spoke of Conservative Americans today as “they,” not “us.”  No wonder our site isn’t called Republican Americans. These permanent republican politicians don’t care about conservatives, they view us as simply annoying.  Check out what Mr. Boehner said today.

From Fox News...

“Frankly, I think they’re misleading their followers,” Boehner said at a press conference. “I think they’re pushing our members into places where they don’t want to be. And frankly, I just think that they’ve lost all credibility.”

Conservative Americans have lost all credibility?  Really?  The one group that actually is listening to what the people want (smaller government, less spending, lower taxes, no Obamacare) is the Conservative Americans.  Those who have lost contact with the voters include democrats and republicans like John Boehner and Paul Ryan.

Wow.  Interesting how both of them all of the sudden will love conservatives and talk conservative at election time, only to toss us under the bus at the earliest possible time.

I am pragmatic enough to realize we have to win some elections to be able to further the conservative agenda. But do we have to give away the heart and soul of the Republican Party to do so? We are being told this is the best deal Paul Ryan could get. Again, I understand he was limited in what he could achieve. But I’m not at all sure he achieved a single thing.

    1. Unfortunately, I think the Boehner approach is the current heart and soul of the GOP.
