Military Casualties Since Barack Obama became Commander in Chief

By Peter Andrew – ConservativeAmerican.org – Leading the way Right

To honor our brave men and women in the military, we list below the names of the fallen. This is page 4 of our list. To see page one, please click hereClick here for page two, and here for page three.

They gave their lives to protect and preserve our freedom. We thank them, we remember them and we honor them. Unlike other lists you may see, our list includes deaths from both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars as well as other military deaths (including those killed at Fort Hood, Texas, those who died in military training exercises and from other incidents or crashes).

This post identifies these wonderful souls by name, listing the heroes who sacrificed everything for you and I. Ours is the list that author and Conservative American talk radio star Mark Levin spoke of on his show and listed on his website. NOTE: ConservativeAmerican.org also hosts the controversial “Obama Death Count” (which people frequently misunderstand). One request please: Out of respect to the fallen, this post is not a place to debate the count itself and it is not a place to debate politics. If you’d like to do that, please visit the political post which explains why we are keeping count. You can do that by clicking hereThank you.

Now we offer our gratitude in prayerful thanksgiving to:

  83. Reporter Craig Whitlock at the Washington Post adds three more to our list. From his story on July 8, 2012: “In pre-dawn darkness [on April 20th, 2012], a Toyota Land Cruiser skidded off a bridge in North Africa in the spring, plunging into the Niger River. When rescuers arrived, they found the bodies of three U.S. Army commandos — alongside three dead women. What the men were doing in the impoverished country of Mali, and why they were still there a month after the United States suspended military relations with its government, is at the crux of a mystery that officials have not fully explained even 10 weeks later.” Those killed included Army Capt. Daniel H. Utley, 33, KY…
  84. …Sgt. 1st Class Marciano E. Myrthil, 39. Utley and Myrthil were members of the 91st Civil Affairs Battalion, 95th Civil Affairs Brigade, which is based at Fort Bragg, N.C., the other man killed was…
  85. …Army Master Sgt. Trevor J. Bast, 39, MI, a communications technician with the Intelligence and Security Command at Fort Belvoir. From the Washington Post again: “The Intelligence and Security Command is a little-known and secretive branch of the Army that specializes in communications intercepts. Its personnel often work closely with the military’s Joint Special Operations Command, which oversees missions to capture or kill terrorism suspects overseas. During his two decades of service, Bast revealed little about the nature of his work to his family. “He did not tell us a lot about his life, and we respected that for security purposes,” his mother, Thelma Bast of Gaylord, Mich., said in a brief interview. “We never asked questions, and that’s the honest truth.” …Bast was in the driver’s seat and was headed south across the Martyrs Bridge. Preliminary investigative results determined that he lost control of the Land Cruiser, which broke through the bridge’s guard rail and landed in the river below. Also in the vehicle were three Moroccan women, according to the Army’s statement. Contributing factors in the accident, the Army said, were limited visibility and “a probable evasive maneuver on the part of the vehicle’s driver to avoid impacting with slower moving traffic.” The soldiers died of “blunt force trauma” when the vehicle landed upside down in the shallow river, crushing the roof, the Army said.”

  258. On 9/11/2012, A terrorist group affiliated with Al Qaeda attacked a U.S. “Diplomatic” post in Benghazi, Libya killing four brave Americans who were waiting for help that never arrived. The attack was not caused by a protest. There was no protest. The attack was not due to a video as the administration claimed for many weeks. There is at least the appearance that the true nature of this attack was covered up to protect the presidential candidacies of both Barack H. Obama in 2012 and Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2016. While those killed were not current members of the military, we feel we should mention them here. Killed were State Department employee Sean Smith, former Navy SEAL Glen Doherty, former Navy Seal Tyrone Woods, and U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens. Stevens was the first U.S. diplomat killed overseas since 1979. Some reports indicate the facility in Benghazi was being used to sneak weapons to rebel fighters in Syria.

  322. While these two deaths are not “counted,” because the people killed were not active duty members of the military, their story is worth sharing. Navy Seal/Sniper Chris Kyle – 38, Midlothian, Texas – died 2/2/13. He was reportedly the deadliest sniper the U.S. ever had, credited with at least 160 kills. To his enemies, he was known as The Devil of Ramadi. From the Blaze.com: “Chris Kyle is a legend among U.S. Navy SEALs, where he earned the reputation as the most deadly sniper in all of American history. The true legacy of Chris Kyle, however, is less well known because it was shaped off the battlefield, outside of the public eye. This is the legacy of a man who made it his life’s mission to help others, giving selflessly to live up to his own personal creed of service to his fellow man. Tragically, Kyle and fellow veteran Chad Littlefield lost their lives in service to that high ideal, shot by a troubled war veteran they were trying to help.” He left behind his wife, Taya, and their two children. NBC says he wrote the book, “American Sniper” and started the charity, FITCO Cares. Along with Kyle, one of his friends and neighbors also died in the same incident. 35-year-old Chad Littlefield was trying to help the same Marine veteran.

Deaths under George W. Bush in Iraq – 4,222
Deaths under George W. Bush in Iraq AND Afghanistan – 4,803
Is there a reason you don’t present both sides? You are aware that President Obama’s policies regarding any war didn’t immediately take effect in January 2009 aren’t you? Or are you just another smear page. I respect other people’s opinions but I have zero respect for people that don’t live in reality. Both parties (and presidents) have sent our men & women to die needlessly in foreign countries.

    1. Hi Angie,
Thanks for your comments. You are always welcome here even when you disagree. We actually do present both sides in our post “The Obama Death Count.” If you read it, you’ll discover that the entire point of the absurd (that’s right, we admit it) Obama Death Count is to demonstrate the absurdity of the democrat party’s “Bush Death Counts” and their efforts to use the military dead for political gain. It was wrong then, it’s wrong now. That’s why at the top of this post we ask that comments like yours be placed on the Obama Death Count post, not here on the list of names of the fallen. These pages with the names of the fallen, are only put up to offer our grateful appreciation to all of the military. You list some numbers for Bush. The democrats loved that, kept count and always updated the numbers, marking “milestones” with huge news coverage. Suddenly, with Obama it wasn’t even news for the NY Times when Obama hit 1,000 military deaths (front page news with Bush in NY Times) or when he recently passed 2,000 deaths. Of course we are aware that the President inherited two wars, he reminded us constantly. He took credit for ending the conflict in Iraq without even mentioning Bush, despite the fact it was the Bush plan, approved prior to Obama taking office, that ended the Iraq conflict. Is there a specific reality you don’t think we live in? Is there a specific thing we did that you think is a smear? Or is it just that we post the Obama Death Count. If it is that, you miss the point. We are actually agreeing with you if that is your complaint. You are 100% correct that both parties have sent men and women into war and that many of them have died.
Again, I really appreciate your comments and the time you took to offer them. I look forward to your future critiques to keep us on our toes! Please read the entire Obama Death Count post if you have not yet done so. Thanks again,
