Another Obama Blunder
It seems the Prez is having some trouble picking good people to work for him. As we have chronicled in our Official Obama Administration Scandals List, it is a common theme in his life. President Barack Obama has always been a terrible judge of character.
This time, however, the problem takes an unusual twist. After Democrat Governor Bill Richardson had to bow out as Commerce Secretary Nominee due to his own possible pay-for-play scandal, someone told Obama to pick a republican US Senator that could be replaced with a democrat. So, the ObamaBot named Republican US Senator Judd Gregg. If the New Hampshire Senator took the post, his replacement would be named by the Democrat governor of New Hampshire giving the Dems the extra little veto-proof edge they desire in the senate.
Only one problem. Gregg and Obama agree on very little. We know why Obama would pick him, but why would Gregg accept?
Fox News reported today on Gregg’s statement he issued when he decided to back out of the nomination:
“It has become apparent during this process that this will not work for me as I have found that on issues such as the stimulus package and the Census there are irresolvable conflicts for me.”
President Obama called the blunder “something of a surprise.” White House Press Spinners were quick to point out Gregg sort of nominated himself and said he would tow the line for Obama and back Obama up. Gregg says he also will not be seeking reelction in 2010. Wonder if Michael Steele, new GOP chair, had anything to do with this?
The blunder makes 44 in total now on the Official Obama Administration Scandals List!
