“Reaching Out” to Terror?

Obama told the NY Times that there may be opportunities to reach out to “moderates” in the Taliban! These are the people who helped to blow up the trade center!  When President Bush had an 80+% approval rating, it was for attacking the Taliban for aiding, helping and hiding their terrorist pals like Bin Laden. Moderates? Here’s a fair question, if the people were moderate, why would they be in the Taliban? The AP reports: “There may be some comparable opportunities in Afghanistan and in the Pakistani region,” Obama said, while cautioning that solutions in Afghanistan will be complicated.  U.S. troops were able to persuade Sunni Muslim insurgents in Iraq to cooperate in some instances because they had been alienated by the tactics of Al Qaeda terrorists.” Obama last month went against the advice of his generals and sent in just an additional 17,000 troops to Afghanistan.  The generals had asked for another 30,000. Obama’s new foreign policy: Tea with Terror.
