Since Barack H. Obama became president of the United States, 666 military members have given their lives in service to our nation.
This from the man who promised all troops would be out of Iraq in 16 months. We passed that deadline with no plan to bring them all home. He changed his promise several times, and now says he’ll leave 50,000 troops behind for an undetermined amount of time… maybe a hundred years (like McCainiac said). So, even if he can pull the 94,000 troop level down to his 50,000 revised goal, he still will have broken his promise to bring them all home.
While President Obama did say the real emphasis should be in Afghanistan, no one imagined the man who championed against the Bush troop surge would one day have his own troop surges!
Oh, and that thing about closing Club Gitmo? Well, if we have no place to house these men and we can’t interrogate them to get any useful information, then what do we do with them? The Obama decision is to simply kill them. That way, he can empty out Gitmo. Forget the lost intelligence, at least he won’t be “torturing” people.
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Capt. Michael P. Cassidy, 41, of Simpsonville, S.C., died June 17 in Mosul, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident. He is the 666th to die under Commander in Chief Barack Obama. Capt. Cassidy was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 9th Field Artillery, 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga. We thank Capt. Cassidy for his bravery and service to our great nation.
TV News Channel 7 has a good piece online about Captain Cassidy. He leaves a wife and two daughters behind.
