Remember that guy on American Idol who sang, “Pants on the ground, pants on the ground… lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground?” I do. President Obama is singing a similar song again promising there will be no boots on the ground in a military effort in Syria.
This time his American Idol appearance is about the request to attack Syria.
Last time he said the same thing about Libya.
You remember Libya, right? That’s where that place is… give me a minute… I’ll think of it, oh yeah! That’s where Benghazi is. That’s where four American patriots were gunned down in a terrorist attack nearly one year ago. At least two of them were wearing boots. The other two reportedly wore normal shoes. When Obama promised no boots on the ground, it was a lie then.
Why would we believe him now?!
As one of my favorite writers, Jim Geraghty at National Review Online, reported back when the President promised no boots on the ground in Libya…
“How would the president describe the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit? There is no such thing as a purely air-based combat mission; planes have problems and pilots end up on the ground, and then U.S. forces have to end up on the ground, hopefully briefly, to rescue them and bring them home safely.”
John Kerry keeps repeating the President’s lie, promising no boots on the ground. This from a guy who has lied about the military as a career.
And if Obama’s heart ever grows three sizes in one day, perhaps he could get around to explaining to the families of those killed in Benghazi why he didn’t do anything to save them.
On the other hand, as Hillary RodRahm Clinton says, “WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE NOW?”
