Since When is Notre Dame Catholic?

By Peter Andrew – ConservativeAmerican.org

Notre Dame University today refiled its suit against the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services claiming that the portion of the Obamacare Nightmare which requires employers to offer contraceptives violates the school’s religious beliefs.

Now, before Notre Dame fans have a collective cow here, let me just acknowledge that Notre Dame is an awesome school which produces very bright and capable graduates. With that as a background, I proceed.

Religious beliefs? Since when is Notre Dame a Catholic school?! Yes, I am partly kidding. But,, school leaders didn’t seem to mind hosting President Obama when he visited to give a graduation speech. They seemed to enjoy that. When that happened, many Catholics were critical of the school for allowing the President to give the address despite his anti-Catholic appointments and his desire to force the Church to pay for (and even offer at its hospitals) abortions and contraceptives.

The University held firm and welcomed the President as they have with numerous Presidents of both parties in the past, despite Obama’s War on Catholics.

So, now they’re upset with him? Hmmmm. Vindication gets us nowhere, but… the old “strange bedfellows” line comes to mind.

As the President continues his assault on Catholics, it’s about time a few of them get upset and we applaud Notre Dame for fighting this. I hope they win their legal battle against Health & Abortion Services Director Kathleen Sebelius.

It just bugs us at ConservativeAmerican.org that Notre Dame’s leaders were so excited to welcome His Obamaness to campus before and now they can’t wait to kick him off!
