Saying the NFL has a large “millionaire population that predictably contributes overwhelmingly to Republicans over Democrats,” the Village Voice finds it odd that Conservative American bloggers like us are defending Rush Limbaugh.
The Village Voice has a piece detailing some of the anger from the Right being expressed on the blogosphere in response to the NFL rejecting Rush Limbaugh as a part-owner of an NFL team.
They reference us (and many other blogs) in the article. They refer to our point that those running the NFL are a bunch of hypocrites if they say they have a higher standard! They are fine with dogfighter Michael Vick, but not with Freedom Fighter Rush Limbaugh.
“The League was castigated for hypocrisy, as it employed dogfighter Michael Vick and other players with criminal records. Doug Powers was incensed that the NFL had approved Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie for NFL ownership, as she had sung sexually explicit lyrics.”
The point of their piece seems to be that Republicans, not lefties, control the NFL. They conclude this way, “Liberals for their part may wonder why, if they are now running the National Football League, it still has a team called the Redskins.” They would prefer the Blueskins perhaps?

It seems to me that all the negative vibes this blowhard (Rush Hudson Limbaugh A.KA. Jeff Christie) has been spewing over these many years has come back to blow back on his face (A classic “Blow Back”). He always tries to give off the airs that he can have anything he wants but as we all witness those with more money and more influence tossed him aside like sack of potatoes and the ultimate insult was that it was done in public (money don’t buy you everything butterball).
Now of course he blames everyone else (Michael J. Fox, Perez Hilton, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Sonia Sotomayor, Hillary Clinton, Olympia Snowe, ESPN, NFL, the media, basically people of color, the handicapped, women and gays) when of course all you have to do is listen to his show and plainly hear his daily prejudices filled sermons. So NFL, I salute you decision, job well done. And to the whaling cry baby perched on his self made pedestal, quit your whining it was your own fault. He is reaping what he has sowed, KARMA, "palin and simple" like his followers. Don’t we all feel better?

One comment I read regarding Rush denial of being the Rams owner, was that "employees do not have the right to choose their employer"…..basically saying that the players were wrong for voicing their feelings on having a bigot as an NFL owner. Actually that comment wasn't that accurate….1) Unions are in place to make sure that the workers are treated fairly on their jobs from all aspects (in this case, the NFL Players Union)….2) Most employers screen their candidates back ground, and normally aren't hired if they have an issue with diversity.____As Rush has shown over and over again, he wishes this was 1949, not 2009. Despite having over a million ignorant listners daily, the NFL made a stand that they will not allow this type of "hate-monger" represent the mean of that league.
