Obama 2012 strikes again.  This time his political supporters are tying to keep the pocketbook of Sarah Palin empty.  Even when people make made-up allegations against Palin, she has to defend herself.  Now the Fort Mill Times reports she has more than $500,000 in legal fees!

From the Times:

“Palin owes more that half a million dollars to an Anchorage law firm for fighting complaints that the governor called partisan, false and frivolous, starting with “the politically motivated Troopergate probe. “I must defend against these baseless ethics accusations out of my own pocket as the use of public monies to do so could itself violate state law,” Palin wrote…The debt was revealed in Palin’s annual financial disclosure filed with the Alaska Public Offices Commission. “On August 29, it seems the political landscape changed in Alaska. Now, it seems in order to do this job as Governor, with the political blood sport some are playing today, only the independently wealthy or those willing to spend their income on legal fees to defend their official actions in office … can serve,” Palin said”

It’s a shame that Obama 2012 plays the “blood sport,” as Palin calls it, trying to make sure she is weakened before a possible attempt to toss the agitator-in-chief out of office.

Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post’s political blog, “The Fix,” has a great piece detailing how Sarah Palin is attempting to manager her “brand” as she gears up for a possible 2012 run for the White House. Cillizza says his sources tell him who is on the Palin Brand Protection Crew.  From his report:

John Coale with his wife

John Coale with his wife

John Coale: Washington lawyer and the husband of Fox News Channel’s Greta Van Susteren, drew national media attention when he endorsed McCain-Palin in protest of the way Hillary Clinton, who he backed in the primary, was treated. Coale, describes himself simply as a “friend” of Palin but acknowledged  he suggested she start a leadership PAC and helped her navigate through some of the questions surrounding her family that lingered after the campaign. Others familiar with Palin’s political team insist that Coale has far more power than he is letting on — essentially helping to run Sarah PAC. Coale demurred on that front, noting only that he talks to Palin regularly and that she is a “fascinating person” who is “definitely not what the right thinks or the left thinks.”

Note from ConservativeAmerican.org….What the heck does that mean?

Meg Stapleton

Meg Stapleton

Meg Stapleton: Stapleton serves as the Alaska spokeswoman for Sarah PAC after having played a similar role for the governor during the vice presidential campaign and in the governor’s office. Stapleton has been the lead defender of Palin from barbs thrown at her — often from those allied with McCain — in the aftermath of the 2008 campaign and, generally, wins positive reviews from Washington insiders not directly allied with the governor.

Pam Pryor: Pryor is the Washington spokesperson for Sarah PAC after serving as a senior adviser to the RNC during last year’s general election. Pryor has previously served as press secretary and chief of staff to former Oklahoma Rep. J.C. Watts.

Becki Donatelli

Becki Donatelli: Donatelli as Chris Cillizza reported a few weeks ago is officially running Sarah PAC. She is the chairman of Campaign Solutions, a fundraising and Internet strategy firm based in Virginia.

Sorry, no picture of Pam Pryor.  Coale was backing Hillary and now all of the sudden he likes Sarah?  Hmmmmmmmmmm.  I am a huge fan of his wife’s TV show though!

Hit a Homer Against Palin?

One Alaska man is hoping to hit a homer against Governor Sarah Palin next year. The Homer News (of Homer, Alaska) reports that Rob Rosenfeld is running for Governor against Palin because he sees her as unfit to hold office (guess he watches Charles Hubris Gibson nightly and drinks the Couric Cool-Aid).

Staff writer Aaron Selbig and photographer Linda Smogor (her pic below) report:

“Rob Rosenfeld, a consultant and advisor to the 66 indigenous communities of the Yukon River watershed, has lived in Alaska since 1989 and in Homer since 1993. Rosenfeld, who holds a masters degree in international and sustainable development and has never run for elected office, said he would have two main focuses as governor — development of Alaska’s renewable energy resources and solutions to living conditions in rural Alaska that he describes as “third world.” “I’ve spent a lot of time trying to get the government to work with rural communities,” said Rosenfeld, who served as the Yukon River Inter-Tribal Watershed Council’s director for 10 years. “I’ve also spent a lot of time mediating between environmental organizations and government. I’m a mediator.”

Palin in Court?

You won’t believe this one.  News Day says a New York judge started carrying on about Alaska Governor Sarah Palin during a court case about a dog!

From News Day:

A federal judge presiding over a case involving an autistic boy took a shot at former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin for bringing her Down syndrome child on stage after a debate last year. U.S. District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald made the remarks during a settlement conference with lawyers involved in a lawsuit against a luxury building in Manhattan. The parents of an 11-year-old boy are fighting a 25-pound limit on dogs, saying a big dog is medically necessary to help their son cope with Asperger’s syndrome. “That kid was used as a prop,” the judge said. “And that to me as a parent blew my mind.” Such conferences are often held behind closed doors, but the remarks were overheard by a reporter for the New York Daily news.

The overheard blunder even made it on O’Reilly’s The Factor.
