Rangel & Stark Compete for The Biggest Loser

Oh that Mrs. Nancy Pelosi. She promised to get in their and clean up what she always loved to call the “Republican culture of corruption.” Ha! She finally gets rid of Chuck Rangel as chair of the House Ways & Means committee and she wanted to pick another loser to take his place!

While Democrat Sander Levin now has been selected, it was only after a Progressive Revolt against Pelosi’s pick of Pete Stark. Earlier reports at Bloomberg and other sites said Stark would sleep on it before deciding. He didn’t get the chance.

John Fund at the Wall Street Journal knows why…

“Republicans will be disappointed. They were looking forward to making a fundraising poster boy of Mr. Stark, a dyspeptic 78-year-old from California’s Bay Area. Said one K Street observer yesterday when the appointment seemed a done deal: “He will be a dream for Republicans fundraising to take over control of Congress. He is so volatile and unpredictable, the business community will contribute if there’s any chance to stop him from keeping the gavel.”

Over the years, Mr. Stark has called various GOP colleagues “fruitcake” and “whore for the insurance industry,” as well as accusing former Rep. J.C. Watts of fathering all his children “out of wedlock.” In 2007, he said President George W. Bush was amused by seeing the heads of U.S. soldiers getting blown off. He later apologized for those remarks on the House floor. He also narrowly escaped an ethics inquiry over claiming a homestead tax deduction for his Maryland residence even though he is registered to vote in California. A highly critical investigator’s report noted that Mr. Stark was “extremely belligerent and frequently insulted [Office of Congressional Ethics] staff members interviewing him.”

Such high examples of fine quality people ol’ Mrs. Nancy has found to clean up all that corruption.

Not.

Once Considered “Crazy,” Socialism Talk Now Accepted

ConservativeAmerican.org really has been Leading the way Right on the talk of Socialism. It was one year ago. August 29th, 2008 when we wrote

“The Democrat party has been taken over by the far left (note that the candidate is the most liberal senator in the US and his running mate is 3rd…behind only Teddy Kennedy). They no longer deserve the name “Democrat” and will more accurately be referred to as Democrat-Socialists by ConservativeAmerican.org.”

This was considered “nuts” at the time. It was many months later when the RNC debated a resolution calling on the party to refer to the democrats as socialist-democrats. They did not pass it. Even Conservative American Rush Limbaugh wasn’t using the term, “Socialism” too often back when we started.

Americans were in love with the idea of racial harmony, ridding themselves of media-imposed racial guilt, and electing a “black” man who actually was only half-black. They were clearly done with President Bush and hoped for a change. With a wave of Obewon Kenobe’s hand, we were leading the way in warning Americans “these are not the changes you are looking for.”

Senator J.C. Watts?

Sunday, June 14th, 2009

Don’t hold your breath. The Southern Political Report says, like it or not, you probably won’t see a U.S. Senator J.C. Watts anytime soon.

Ending months of speculation, US Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) announced on Monday that he will run for re-election to a second term in 2010. A recent poll by Public Policy Polling found that Coburn, a staunch and somewhat maverick conservative, had the highest approval rating among the Sooner State’s leading politicos: Coburn’s rating was 59% to 51% for US Rep. Mary Fallin (R), 43% for US Rep. Tom Cole (R) and 39% for US Rep. Dan Boren (D). Coburn’s announcement is both good news and bad news for the GOP. On the upside, Coburn is a strong bet for re-election. On the downside, had Coburn not run, former US Rep. J. C. Watts (R-OK) may have succeeded him in the Senate, giving Republicans a much-needed high-profile African-American officeholder.

Conservative American J.C. Watts has many doors open for a possible political future if he chooses that route.

JC for Governor?

Still no official word about a possible run for Governor of Oklahoma by Conservative American J.C. Watts. The Oklahoman Newspaper reports:

Former U.S. Rep. J.C. Watts also said he is considering the race, but has not formed a committee to raise funds. Watts has named Chad Alexander, his former campaign manager, as his spokesman.

And this from the Swing State Project:

OK-Gov: Stuart Rothenberg reports that ex-Rep. J.C. Watts is getting close to a decision on whether to run for the governor’s seat in Oklahoma, and that he’s likely to get in. This would pit him in a battle royale with retiring Rep. (and former Lt. Gov.) Mary Fallin for the GOP nod.

Red Stater has already endorsed Watts even though he has made no announcement yet:

Red Stater officially endorses JC Watts for governor of Oklahoma. …now if he will just run! (Quote from Watts) “…they [ Jesse Jackson, et al.] said that I had sold out and was an Uncle Tom. And I said well, they deserve to have that view. But I have my thoughts. And I think they’re race-hustling poverty pimps.”

We continue to be big fans of JC Watts and hope he will run for the position.

The only Official Sarah Palin Fan Club!
ConservativeAmerican.org – Leading the way Right

By Peter Andrew

Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post’s political blog, “The Fix,” has a great piece detailing how Sarah Palin is attempting to manager her “brand” as she gears up for a possible 2012 run for the White House. Cillizza says his sources tell him who is on the Palin Brand Protection Crew.  From his report:

John Coale with his wife

John Coale with his wife

John Coale: Washington lawyer and the husband of Fox News Channel’s Greta Van Susteren, drew national media attention when he endorsed McCain-Palin in protest of the way Hillary Clinton, who he backed in the primary, was treated. Coale, describes himself simply as a “friend” of Palin but acknowledged  he suggested she start a leadership PAC and helped her navigate through some of the questions surrounding her family that lingered after the campaign. Others familiar with Palin’s political team insist that Coale has far more power than he is letting on — essentially helping to run Sarah PAC. Coale demurred on that front, noting only that he talks to Palin regularly and that she is a “fascinating person” who is “definitely not what the right thinks or the left thinks.”

Note from ConservativeAmerican.org….What the heck does that mean?

Meg Stapleton

Meg Stapleton

Meg Stapleton: Stapleton serves as the Alaska spokeswoman for Sarah PAC after having played a similar role for the governor during the vice presidential campaign and in the governor’s office. Stapleton has been the lead defender of Palin from barbs thrown at her — often from those allied with McCain — in the aftermath of the 2008 campaign and, generally, wins positive reviews from Washington insiders not directly allied with the governor.

Pam Pryor: Pryor is the Washington spokesperson for Sarah PAC after serving as a senior adviser to the RNC during last year’s general election. Pryor has previously served as press secretary and chief of staff to former Oklahoma Rep. J.C. Watts.

Becki Donatelli

Becki Donatelli

Becki Donatelli: Donatelli as Chris Cillizza reported a few weeks ago is officially running Sarah PAC. She is the chairman of Campaign Solutions, a fundraising and Internet strategy firm based in Virginia.

Sorry, no picture of Pam Pryor.  Coale was backing Hillary and now all of the sudden he likes Sarah?  Hmmmmmmmmmm.  I am a huge fan of his wife’s TV show though!

Gwen Ifill: Racial Politics

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

Infamous presidential debate moderator Gwen Ifill has her own two cents to add to the Eric Holder-created racial discussion…and that’s about what her comments are worth.  Ifill told the Center for American Progress and Think Progress that she does not think Michael Steele was elected RNC chair because he was black.  Her logic? (find out what she says about JC Watts and see the vid clip by clicking read the rest)
