Leading the way Right
By Peter Andrew
Former VP Candidate Sarah Palin had a good time last night making fun of…herself!
From the Associated Press and Fox News…
“Sarah Palin poked fun at herself in a speech to journalists Saturday night, drawing laughter when she announced she “came down from my hotel room and I could see the Russian Embassy.“
The 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate also joked that she had originally thought of titling her book “How To Look Like a Million Bucks For Only $150,000″ before settling on “Going Rogue.” In one of the controversies surrounding her candidacy, the campaign spent about $150,000 on her wardrobe.
Palin was the Republican speaker at the winter dinner of the Gridiron Club, an organization of Washington-based journalists…
If the election had turned out differently, she said, “I could be the one overseeing the signing of bailout checks and Vice President Biden could be on the road selling his book, ‘Going Rogaine.”‘
Fox says Palin made other funny jokes too! She said she was glad to be appearing before an elite audience of leading intellectuals, “or as I like to call it, a death panel.”
The AP notes that McCain’s campaign staff also came in for a barb from the former Alaska governor when she said she is touring the country by bus as she sells her book. “The view is so much better from inside the bus than under it,” she said, referring to the poisonous relations between her and some of the McCain campaign staff.
Sarah Baracuda was in Iowa today giving the press more to discuss as they ponder Palin 2012! From Fox news…
Sarah Palin was delayed on her way to Iowa Sunday as the former Republican vice presidential candidate got a late start from Washington, D.C., after visiting with wounded soldiers at Walter Reed hospital.
The delay did nothing to dampen anticipation for Palin’s arrival, whose visit to Sioux City is more than just the next stop in her national book tour but is being closely watched for any indications about a future presidential bid. Iowa’s first-in-the-nation caucuses traditionally launch the presidential nominating season.
Huge crowds waited at Barnes & Noble book store, even lining up in the parking lot overnight, huddled in blankets to protect themselves from temperatures in the teens. Supporters arrived from such distance places as Texas, Ohio, North Dakota and Nebraska.
Real Americans from every state love this woman. She is bright, witty, conservative and unapologetic. It’s so early now, but a Palin 2012 bid seems to be unstoppable. The media and Obama 2012 (one and the same) will continue to try to destroy her, making her even more popular, over the next few years.
When Palin runs, look for larger crowds for a Presidential candidate than ever before in history! Americans will show up to renew their apple pie, baseball, american flag patriotism and shout down the socialist-democrats trying to destroy free market capitalism.
