Greetings from Alaska where the fish are running and the sun is shining late!

Not long ago, I had the opportunity to spend time with Governor Sarah Palin as we visited Central New York, Manhattan, Long Island, Washington, D.C. and Texas.

It never ceases to amaze me that every time we travel together, virtually every moment of her time is spent talking to and caring for others, while listening to and learning from them as well – like brave, young Robert whose life we celebrated at the Autism Speaks Walk or the historical voices of the strong men and women upon whose shoulders we stand, including Harriet Tubman, Susan B. Anthony and former Secretary William H. Seward.

Below, I attached a quick note from the Governor which she penned before leaving the country last week. I am attaching it to this memo because I am asking you to help Governor Palin and SarahPAC today!

You have been so incredibly supportive and generous, and now we ask you again for your help – and we ask that you please also encourage your friends and family to give.

SarahPAC needs to be in the position to help fund candidates who are going to fight for what we all believe – smaller government, less spending, and fewer taxes. With your help, we can take the Governor’s message and encourage others who also have hope and are firmly rooted in the conservative belief that you know how best to spend your money and not government.

I wanted to drop you a quick note about my trip earlier this month – a whirlwind tour and an opportunity to share a bit more about Alaska. (I am writing this before heading overseas to visit our Troops; I know that will be a most inspiring journey!)

It is such a treat to talk to everyone about Alaska and hear stories of fishing, hunting, and camping. And it thrills me to hear from those who wish to visit our beautiful state! Alaska has much to offer – from her magnificent glaciers to her abundant natural resources to fuel our homes and businesses.

When we travel outside Alaska, the hospitality is always overwhelming, and Todd and I so enjoyed meeting many new people on our recent trip to the Lower 48 – all emblematic of so many across this country who are willing to give of time, energy and effort to help one another.

It was thrilling to see the look on both young and old faces as I traveled to New York, Washington, D.C. and Texas. Words can never express the incredible spirit of all those who dedicate their lives to making even one life more comfortable.

Todd and I always recognize how grateful and proud we are to be citizens of the United States. We are so very blessed.

New York native Meghan Stapleton, spokeswoman for Alaska Governor Sarah Palinon political matters, helped arrange a trip to New York for Palin at the end of next week. on June 6th, she’ll be visiting the home of William H. Seward in Auburn, New York.

As reported at Syracuse.com, there is a connection between Alaska and Auburn, New York: “Alaska and Auburn are linked through William H. Seward, who lived much of his adult life in Auburn and was secretary of state under Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson. Seward negotiated the deal with Russia in which the U.S. bought Alaska on March 30, 1867, for $7.2 million.” Syracuse says it also doesn’t hurt that Meghan Stapleton is from Auburn and her dad sits on the Seward House Board of Directors!

Stapleton told Syracuse: “”Auburn is the anchor. We’re still trying to decide her schedule. We’re coming to Auburn because of the direct celebration of Alaska and the role of Auburn’s William Seward. The governor is absolutely excited.”

Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post’s political blog, “The Fix,” has a great piece detailing how Sarah Palin is attempting to manager her “brand” as she gears up for a possible 2012 run for the White House. Cillizza says his sources tell him who is on the Palin Brand Protection Crew.  From his report:

• John Coale: Washington lawyer and the husband of Fox News Channel’s Greta Van Susteren, drew national media attention when he endorsed McCain-Palin in protest of the way Hillary Clinton, who he backed in the primary, was treated. Coale, describes himself simply as a “friend” of Palin but acknowledged  he suggested she start a leadership PAC and helped her navigate through some of the questions surrounding her family that lingered after the campaign. Others familiar with Palin’s political team insist that Coale has far more power than he is letting on — essentially helping to run Sarah PAC. Coale demurred on that front, noting only that he talks to Palin regularly and that she is a “fascinating person” who is “definitely not what the right thinks or the left thinks.”

• Meg Stapleton: Stapleton serves as the Alaska spokeswoman for Sarah PAC after having played a similar role for the governor during the vice presidential campaign and in the governor’s office. Stapleton has been the lead defender of Palin from barbs thrown at her — often from those allied with McCain — in the aftermath of the 2008 campaign and, generally, wins positive reviews from Washington insiders not directly allied with the governor.

• Pam Pryor: Pryor is the Washington spokesperson for Sarah PAC after serving as a senior adviser to the RNC during last year’s general election. Pryor has previously served as press secretary and chief of staff to former Oklahoma Rep. J.C. Watts.

• Becki Donatelli: Donatelli as Chris Cillizza reported a few weeks ago is officially running Sarah PAC. She is the chairman of Campaign Solutions, a fundraising and Internet strategy firm based in Virginia.

The Site Team Sarah Doesn’t Want You to See!!

Some legislators in Alaska are apparently wondering what happened to the way things used to be before Sarah Palin became a national politician. News Miner is reporting:

“They’re used to spotting the effervescent Palin striding past, deftly working her two Blackberries, stopping to chat in the hallway or inviting reporters in while she prepares for a speech. Palin insists her focus is still on Alaska. “I swore to steadfastly and doggedly guard the interests of this great state like a grizzly with cubs,” she said in her State of the State address two days after the start of session. “We’ve got to fight for each other, not against, and not let external sensationalized distractions draw us off course.”

State senator Bert Stedman says Palin is “not so sparky.” State Representative David Guttenberg told News Miner, “There were days when she walked around the building with (her daughter) Piper handing out bagels. I think those days are gone.”

State senator Gene Therriault defends Palin to those who are asking where she is.  “So far, I’ve seen the governor deliver her energy package, she delivered her budget on time and she met with the majority caucus. I’ve not seen or heard anyone come up with anything the executive is supposed to be doing that she has not done. It appears to me she’s back on the job full-time.”

Palin remains so popular ther her press staff still receives hundreds and hundreds of interview requests.

Sarah Palin’s brand new “SarahPac” political action committee already has a problem.  It is receiving so much support on its very first day of operation that the site’s email system has shut down!  The volume of email heading to SarahPac has apparently crashed a server, or overloaded a system somewhere.  Those who try to email the PAC tonight get the following message:

“The mail system <info@sarahpac.com>: permission denied. Command output: Mail quota exceeded.”

Sarah Palin has always had energetic and enthusiastic supporters.  Seems she has more than even her PAC was prepared for!
