The 3rd Iraq War?!

The difference between a combat soldier and a non-combat soldier

Will President Barack Obama’s failed Mideast policies result in yet ANOTHER Iraq war? Will his decisions wind up costing even more American lives by leading to the U.S. having a 3rd war in Iraq?

It sure could happen. Reports out this week, like this one in the Cortez Journal, say…

“Islamic militants controlling a mainly Sunni area west of Baghdad are so well-armed that they could occupy the capital, a top Iraqi official warned Monday, a frank and bleak assessment of the challenge posed in routing the insurgents… Since late December, members of Iraq’s al-Qaida branch – known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant – have taken over parts of Ramadi, the capital of the largely Sunni western province of Anbar. They also control the center of the nearby city of Fallujah…”

Candidate Obama promised to get out of Iraq day one. That, of course, didn’t happen. Instead he stuck to the George W. Bush-brokered deal, and left on the timeline previously agreed to. Even at that point, Obama made up a new term; “non-combat troops,” in leaving 50,000 soldiers in Iraq but telling America they were not “combat troops!

We didn’t keep a military base in Iraq. We didn’t broker a deal for oil to pay us back for the war. We just left.

Since that time, the situation in Iraq has steadily become worse. If it falls back into the control of terrorists, what have we gained? If Al-Qaeda runs Iraq, what does that mean to all of the families of soldiers killed in action in Iraq?

Would the U.S. simply stand by idly, while Al Qaeda takes over Iraq? Or would we be forced into another military conflict because of President Obama’s mishandling of the war? Seems to me we have a very big problem here, and not one that is getting much attention. Mr. Obama has been a disinterested Commander-in-Chief invested in the failure of our nation’s military efforts. This is already leading to a disaster in Iraq, one the United States military will eventually have to clean up. And that, will result in the deaths of more Americans in the military.
